First time visiting anthena villa, was just amazing choosing anthena for holiday ...nice views and calm place the pool.. good welcoming all staffs are nice and good service highly recommended friends.
I recently stayed here with my two children (1 and 3) and two friends. We stayed in the 3 bedroom villa 311 - 313. The villa itself is good value for money. Considering we paid about $50AUD per adult per night it was reasonable i think. Aircon is icy cold, beds are great and the bathrooms are a lovely touch being partly indoor partly outdoor. It isn't as far from other locations that we thought. In fact it was much easier to get to legian and Kuta than if we were staying on the other side of Sunset Road. This was a big bonus having the small kids that hate being stuck in a stationary car for too long. The breakfast that is included is minimal with the choice of eggs and toast or rice and juice. There is a fresh water bottle there and the fridge worked really well so we were never short of fresh cold water. No coffee offered with breakfast, which for this coffee lover was a bit of a bummer but we bought coffee sachets from the mini mart next door to get us by and Starbucks is a short walk away. There is a laundry just outside of the driveway to the left and although they dont speak much english we had all of our washing done for about $7 before coming home and they did a great job. Taxi's are very easy to get and the staff are happy to call them for you. The staff were all lovely and did their best to help us and accomodate us as possible. The pool was PERFECT. Clean at all times and we all loved being able to just jump in any time of the day and night. Our children never wanted to get out. Small touches missing upon arrival were things like a cold towel and a nice welcome drink i think would make a much better first impression. Especially when its a 11pm arrival. The negatives, Absolutely nothing to sit on around the pool. There is a lovely gazebo outside and a small lounge setting but no cushions at all. We ended up bringing our pillows out a few times as it was better than the hard wood. They have cushions on the couches in the lobby and when I asked if we could get some they let me know there wasn't any. This definitely needs to change as it makes a big difference to wanting to stay at the villa during the day outside vs going out somewhere else that we can relax in comfort. The TV's did not work. Despite being advertised as having working TV's and lots of channels they didn't work and there was nothing they could do to fix them when I asked. This was very disappointing as some days our kids just needed to chill out and watch a movie before bed. Thank goodness we had out laptop with some movies on it. WIFI - this was crap. We didn't bother using it at all, instead brought a $10 sim card from the OPPO store directly outside of the villa and used that instead and that lasted us the entire trip. Overall, for the price the villa did meet our expectations. Its not one in which you can never leave as there is no restaurant or proper kitchen on site so other than breakfast you need to either order in or leave the villa for food. However we would be happy to come back for a short trip in the future. If they make a few improvements to the villas and the outdoor comfort it would definitely improve the rating.…
We booked our stay here last minute due to a change in our Route around Bali. We were a little sceptical after reading some of the reviews. The villas were adequate - all the facilities you could need. However, the outside kitchen area needed a very good clean and the garden area could have done with some maintenance. The inside of the villa was clean. There were no sun loungers outside so we had to go and buy some lilo’s to lay on to avoid the floor. The staff however were very friendly and helpful and willing to do anything for us. The location is not great if you are planning to go to the beaches/ restaurants (45 minute walk each way). The staff are more than helpful booking taxis though. This place has the potential to be wonderful but it needs a bit of TLC.
This is the most beautiful villa I have ever stayed so far. It is with a garden and swimming pool for every single villa. I and my friends screamed with surprise as we got into the villa. IT WAS REALLY FANTASTIC! The villa is good, the garden is good, the swimming pool is good, the food is good, and the people are good. The server came to make breakfast for us in the kitchen, and we woke up with the aroma everyday. What we did was to relax and had photos anywhere in the secret garden. We felt like the royal during the stay.
We came to Bali with the hope of finding a nice hotel for a good price. We booked two nights in Seminyak via Hotwire's Hot Rate Deals for a 4.5-Star hotel. This is what we got. The pictures on Trip Advisor and their website are misleading. This hotel hasn't been updated in at least 15 years. If it has, it was NOT a quality renovation. When we arrived (around 9pm at night), there were two people working at the hotel. They were seated in chairs that were falling apart in the "lobby" amongst at least 10 geckos. Don't get me wrong, geckos are cute, but they don't really belong in a lobby. This "4.5-Star" hotel doesn't have a restaurant, in-room WiFi, room service, common areas or a fitness center. WiFi is only available in the lobby area which is about the size of a large bedroom. Other than the lobby and your walk to the Villa, there are no common areas. No one assists in carrying your bag to you room. Once you get to your villa and you open the door, it looks great at first glance. When you walk a little closer, you see how old and dilapidated it is. Most of the living area is outside. Inside, is your bedroom, a small closet, a sink and two doors that open to the "backyard," which also doubles as your bathroom. I get that in Bali, you're supposed to become closer with nature, but the toilet (at a minimum) should be inside- you booked a 4.5-Star hotel for crying out loud. The doors in the villa don't seal well so you can expect to be sleeping with the mosquitos and other insects. If you choose to stay, close the net above your bed- you'll be glad you did. While they don't have room service, they did offer in-villa breakfast. It was nothing special- an egg, cheese, cucumber and tomato sandwich with an orange juice. Nice gesture, though. You'll also have a personal pool in your villa. I'm not sure what others have looked like, but ours was nice and actually clean-cut probably the nicer part of the whole villa. Needless to say, this is definitely a place to avoid- we stayed one night and then quickly found another hotel. They have a lot of updating to do to get back to the 4.5-Star hotel they claim to be. I give them 2 at best.…
It was our first time in Bali, my partner and I enjoyed our stay at Athena. Halid was so helpful throughout our 6 day stay. Having air con and wifi was great, always worked. The villa itself could have use a lil update but liveable. The plunge pool was a great surprise, it was clean everyday. The hotel is a lil out of the way but when you get good taxi drivers coming and going it makes your stay not so bad. Yes the rooster woke us up but thats all part of the experience. Everyone in Bali was so friendly and easy to talk to
I were booking this villa for 2 nights with booking.com. Cheap price with great beautiful photos showing in the website made us fall into their trap. 1.The property is very hard to find. The sign in the front is very small. After I found it and check in, the staff said that they will "upgrade" us into 2 bedrooms villa because the 1 bedroom which I booked was under renovation but they locked one of the bedroom in the villa !!?? They also said that we have to move back to 1 bedroom villa in the second night. The reason why I booked the hotel for 2 nights is because I don't want to move or pack my stuffs every night we stay in Bali. I tried to talk to the staff to stay in the same villa again not because of it is 2 bedrooms villa but I don't want to pack our luggage. He said that we have to move anyway and actually THIS PROBLEM OCCURS MANY TIMES BEFORE. 2. I booked the villa with the non-refundable price in booking.com which I have to use my credit card to pay before. While checking in, the staff told me that booking.com didn't charge me by credit card. I have to pay them directly by cash again. So I called booking.com to ask about the credit card issue. They said that IT SHOULD BE PAID BY CREDIT CARD SINCE THE DAY I HAD BOOKED IT. 3. The villa is very big with a good interior design. There is also a kitchen which you can cook there with microwave and big refrigerator but the cleanliness if the property wasn't good. I felt like the floor was dusty. It was a strain on the bed sheet. …
It was the worst accommodation I have ever seen in Bali. We paid for 5 nights and stayed 1. The road out the front sounds like a race track from 10 pm - 3am and then the rooster wakes you up at 5 am. Nothing is within walking distance, even a mini mart. We spent 9 hrs for $600. The shower is outside where the bat poo is on every thing. The owner would not relent on price although if we had of cancelled the day before we would have only wasted $120. No wifi even thou it was meant to and the bottled water in chiller comes from the tap. The sheets on the bed were dirty. After 11 hotels in Bali this was the worst ever.
Warning . Pics of place are not what they seem. Place was dirty ,hair in the bed, linen dirty, pool dirty, the outdoor bath you wouldn't wash your own dog in.. Mould in basin and shower..woken up by roosters. At 5am..we had had enough...We booked for 5 nights and we wanted to leave after the first night.and we did. We spoke to the owner and he just did not care one bit. And still made us pay the total cost for the 5nights.didnt even offer us another room or discount. What a waste of money.
I wouldn't even give this a 1*. Whilst we waited to be checked in we were given a cold drink and we saw a lot of staff rushing about with buckets and mops and even one carrying a very dirty, ragged old mattress away. I looked at my husband and said "this does not bode well". We were eventually shown to our villa, almost choking on the fumes of the chemical they used to kill the mosquitoes, we put our suitcases down and looked at the pool (loosely described but really a large sink). The shower was outside and rusted, Legionnaires disease waiting to happen. The kitchen, contained a water dispenser filled with tap water, not bottled water!!! We stayed 1 hour and 55 minutes of that was spent walking around trying to find somewhere else to stay. Needless to say we checked out and got a taxi somewhere else. If your expectations are one step away from sleeping on the beach, this is the place for you.…
