Not 5 star but the history and architecture is amazing. This was the hotel of the stars back in the day and I am sure anybody staying there would feel the ambience and atmosphere. I would definitely come back.

we loved this place, the lobby was amazing and full of native artefacts. Our room was very small and it was like playing draughs - your move, my move - but it certainly didn't detract from the ambience of the place, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was even smaller, but as we were only there one night...

We were driving Route 66 and thought this hotel was a must - we couldn't have been more wrong. The service at the desk was disgraceful and rude. The Wi-Fi was down and had been for 3 days, it was intermittently available in the lobby. The room was small and not clean. We called for extra pillows - it took...

I called on Saturday, December 6th to book a room for that day for a single-night stay. After some negotiation, was quoted a $99 rate. When I checked in that evening, I was told the quoted rate would not be honored and the room would be $119. The desk clerk said that I could discuss the situation in the morning...

This place is cool! Has an authentic taste of Western Memorabilia, & Native America. I recommend the JOHN WAYNE Suite, or the EXECUTIVE Suite. The BRIDAL Suite's pretty big with a living room, kitchen & terrace. There are many other named suites from classic icons such as CLARK GABLE, LUCILLE BALL to HUMPHREY BOGART. Folks, their autographed pictures on the...

Spent 1 night at the El Rancho Hotel while touring the Route 66. Friendly check in staff. Room was comfortable with good wifi signal. Lots of pictures adorn the walls of all the movie stars that have stayed at the El Rancho.

The best part of this place is the lobby. The rooms are pretty run down and in need of renovation. Linens also seemed worn and time for replacement. I stayed here based on the suggestion from Sunset Magazine and was disappointed. Easily missable.

My husband and I stayed here as part of our route 66 trip and we were lucky to have the 'Kirk Douglas' room (which would highly impress my nan). Anyway this room is more of an apartment as it has a kitchenette and dining area. If I'm honest the room does need a little refresh but that was part of...

This hotel may have been a must-see when Route 66 was the hot item, but the charm is wearing thin. The staff was not very helpful and seemed to have difficulty just checking us in. Our room was clean and comfortable. Even though trains run through town frequently we got a good night's sleep. We ate dinner in the restaurant...

This hotel has been a landmark on Route 66 since the '30s. When the old western movies were being shot nearby, the El Rancho was the only hotel around. Many movie greats stayed in this hotel. Take time to sit in the lobby...it is full of treasures. Above the door of each room is the name of a movie star...
