The owner LaVerne Tromble is a builder and has owned the property for 40 years, and has a photo album of the construction, renovation and add-ons that make this lodge a delightful getaway. Very reasonably priced if you can get it! LaVerne has a regular roster of visitors who return each year for the ambiance. A wonderful patio, a Garden...

Dear Guest, We all love your review. Thank you. I'm happy that we had a room available. February is always full house, with all our snowbirds. Every day of every season, our magnificent view is indeed heavenly. I hope you can come back soon. Thank you for staying with US. LaVerne and Calvin

April,2015-The Lodge on the Desert was a very awesome surprise! I had expectations but the Lodge and the hostess Laverne Tremblay far exceeded them! It was like meeting my Great Aunt for the first time with a warm welcome into the New Mexico life! Being from Manitoba Canada there was a bit of a contrast! :) Flying to El Paso...

Dear Guest, Your warm review is received as warmly as your warm welcome to New Mexico. Thank you dear lady; very much. Knowing you were leaving Canada and traveling alone, I did want to make certain that I could help you as much as possible! Happy to hear that my calls did help you. This beautiful lodge should be renamed "A Romantic Getaway In The Desert" because that's exactly how my beautiful wife and I felt. The peace and tranquility of the lodge set the tone for our vacation as we got away from the raucous of the city and the kids. This was the first time in 10 years that my wife and...

Dear Guest, It is couples like the two of you, that returns so much joy and happiness, and makes running my Lodge a labor of love! Calvin and I enjoy our patio for the same reasons you and your wife did. We seemed to meet every morning while he and I were enjoying breakfast in our outdoor kitchen. I think...

The Lodge gives a wonderful, real desert experience full of beautiful, broad views of spectacular sunrises, the Organ Mountains, desert landscape, incoming rain storms... A short little walk path provides an experience to see wildlife and desert plants up close. We stayed in the Angel Suite and it was perfect for us as a "home away from home". LaVerne is...

Dear Guest, Your review is as friendly and poetic as the two of you! Thank you so much. "A real desert experience" I had not thought of it in that way, but it is certainly an apt title! Glad that I showed you our trail. Whenever we encountered you on the trail, dog was so happy to meet you. And,...

I own a house in Las Cruces which currently is a rental. My usual accommodation, was unavailable and all the motels seemed expensive. I found A Lodge on the Desert when I typed in bed and breakfasts. I stayed a week. My room was overly large, comfortable and living with "personal summers" I greatly appreciated the ceiling fan directly over...

Dear Guest, Thank you for writing this lovely review. Knowing how hard it is to find a handyman that can be trusted in all aspects, I was very happy to help you! Everyone loves their kitchenettes. It gives a wonderful feeling when you can make what you want, when you want it, and using your own ingredients helps your health...

I was scheduled for a business related training in Las Cruces and was not sure where to stay. I googled "lodge" in Las Cruces as I was looking for a more private place and not a hotel or motel. I came across A Lodge on the Desert. I compared the prices to the hotels around the areas and noticed they...

The Lodge has the best view in Las Cruces! Seeing the sunrise over the Organ Mountains is an absolute must. The house is gorgeous and the caretaker, LaVerne, is so interesting! I could listen to her stories for hours. I'll definitely be back. I recommend the Kokopelli Suite, but they're all lovely.

We spent a week here in February. We were looking for a quiet place where we could rest and I could recover from a surgery. Mission accomplished! The room was very quiet and clean. Swanky it's not, but it is comfortable and homey. Our hostess, Laverne, was warm and kind—even gave us a tour of her private quarters. Great night...
