I only spent one night here during my 5 day safari, and it was absolutely amazing! It has a beautiful garden, a nice pool, and there's a waterhole right next to the lodge (separated by electric fence) I saw warthogs and elephants and a lot of monkeys there, drinking and having fun in the water. the rooms/huts are quite big,...

As a female solo traveler I was very happy with the choice I made. Yes of course, there are ample number of safari lodges around and prices to go with what you choose. Viva safari was excellent value for money. Apart for being super lucky and seeing all the big 5, and much more the drivers/rangers on game drives were...

Had a great stay at Tremisana. This is not a luxury resort, but the people here are very accomodating. Watch out for the monkeys however, they wait for you to leave them something to eat. An added plus was the free wifi in the bar area.

I took part in the 5 day safari tour with Viva Safaris, staying the entire time at Tremisana Lodge. The full day drive from Johannesburg to Balule was a bit long but the rest stop was at a very nice restaurant with lovely food. We were greeted from our long drive with lemonade and soon after we took off on...

Hi there Thanks for a very good review. We are very pleased to know that you found the safari "flexible and fantastic". We are especially glad to hear that as a single female traveller you were made to feel welcome and were looked after. We are pleased that you rate Delina's homemade bread the best you have ever had -...

This review is based more on the safari package offered than the actual Lodge itself. We undertook the four-day safari package which involved a full day's drive to Tremisana Lodge from Joburg, a day in Balule private reserve near Tremisana Lodge (walk and drive), transfer to Marc's Treehouse Camp, a full day in Kruger, then on the final day a...

Booked through STA travel agents as part of viva safaris. We arrived at Tremisana in the afternoon after a long drive from Johannesburg. We were welcomed by staff with the best lemonade in the world! The showed us to our lodges, which were really spacious and culturally decorated. The bed was comfortable and the room has all amenities you could...

We stayed at Tremisana as part of a 4D3N package arranged by Viva Safaris. For the price we paid (R7995pp), it was one of the cheapest safari packages I could find on google. We were on a budget, and didn't want to pay extortionate prices. The experience was great, and nothing 'budget' about it at all. It exceeded our expectations....

I recently took the Viva Safari four-day trip to Kruger and I must say I had mixed feelings by the end, although, not entirely because of the company. Firstly, it's important you understand the intineraries of the different trips they offer. The most popular seems to be the four-day trip, but if you have time, go for the five-day one...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tremisana Game Lodge was a founder member of the Balule Game Reserve. Tremisana is the largest and leading lodge in this section, having a total of 12 chalets plus a two-bedroomed guesthouse. We can sleep a maximum of 35 guests. Every unit is en suite ( shower, toilet, basin ) and all units are air-conditioned.The lodge is serviced by two excellent boreholes. Its proximity to the tar road means Tremisana is easily accessible all year round, including the rainy season. The presence of lions, elephant and buffalo necessitates the maintaining of an electric fence around the camp. Perhaps the most striking feature of Tremisana Game Lodge is the beautiful gardens. The presence of numerous bougainvilleas and various palms and cycads gives the camp a subtropical feel. Water features add a soothing effect and the overall feel of Tremisana is very relaxing. At night, the subdued light from the illuminated paved walkways lend a romantic and magical flavour to this outstanding camp. ... more   less
