I just cant say enough about this camp. From the moment they picked us up at the airport, we had nothing but top notch service. The accommodations will blow you away. This beats out any five star hotel. The tents are large, and you feel as if you are in a luxury suite. The rooms have full decks on the...

A boutique type of resort, peaceful and quiet (only 20 guests). The luxurious "tents" are very comfortable. Friendly and relaxed staff, with lots of humour. The safari starts already on the way from the airport with the jeep - you immediately see girafes and zebras on the way. Great ! Food is not the finest but wine selection (all inclusive)...

From the moment we arrived at the Hoedspruit airport, and were greeted by our Kapama representative, my wife and I were blown away by the service and accommodations provided to us. Every member of the staff at Kapama goes out of their way to make sure that your experience is top notch, and they follow through with that sentiment as...

This was my first safari experience and it proved to be an excellent choice. The accommodation is in tents but don't be fooled by that; the tents would put many a high end hotel to shame, they are well appointed and kept very very clean. Set on stilts some 20 feet above ground they give a quiet, almost isolated, feeling...

We had a fantastic three nights at Kapama Buffalo Camp. The accommodations were perfect- well maintained, beautifully decorated and secluded (and air conditioned!!). The facilities are fantastic with several unique outdoor eating areas with some of the best food we have ever eaten (and enough options to please everyone). The service is top notch- from the cleaning staff, the servers,...

Kapama Buffalo Camp was the first of three lodges that we stayed out during our trip to S. Africa. The property is cozy, rustic, and welcoming. The main room, bar, and dining areas are all open and have a great view of the inviting pool. The room we stayed in was beautiful and the A/C worked great on the hot...

Technically its living in a tent. But what a tent! Specious air-conditioned room, gleaming floors, shower stall with rain shower with glass wall at the back. Yes, those monkeys and other animals passing by can see you naked in the shower but no humans can. If you are feeling prudish, there is also a beautiful bath tub in the middle...

We had a superb experience staying at Buffalo Camp. We couldn't find fault with the accommodation or dining at the camp whilst the service from all staff was great. Would definitely recommend staying here!

We stayed at buffalo camp for 2 nights but wish we could have been there for more- due to busy time and capacity our other 3 nights were ended at the river lodge, which does not even compare or do justice to this camp or the Kapama brand. Buffalo camp exceeded all expectations we had, the tents are more glamorous...

The Kapama Buffalo Camp, on the Kapama Game Reserve, offers probably the most intimate, authentic, and surely exclusive accommodations in Kapama. With a limited amount of 'tents', it is clearly not crowded, and people there look for unique moment, both on the reserve tracks and in the camp. Service, food, comfort are better than anywhere else! Just perfect. The tents...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Reminiscent of a traditional African safari camp, Kapama Buffalo Camp offers a unique and intimate experience in the African bush. It is ideal for discovering big game Africa in true safari tented style without compromising on comfort.Ten luxury build canvas tents, each sleeping two, are set on wooden decks built on stilts over a steep-sided riverbank. Wooden walkways interconnect the rooms, which are all in the upper reaches of tall riverine trees. The river below rarely flows and antelopes are seen daily walking along the sandy riverbed. Each tented room has all the usual comforts of electricity, en-suite bathroom, safe, writing table, wardrobe, low impact climate control, mini-bar and tea/coffee facilities. The communal areas of Buffalo Camp are on the riverbank, where gardens of succulent aloes and euphorbia are tended around the thatched bar, dining room, pool terrace and campfire. But the thick African bush is just a glance away, inhabited by animals like lion, hyena and jackal whose calls can be heard in the dead of night. Lanterns, rather than electric lights, glow at night under the trees, creating a special intimate ambience particular to Buffalo Camp. With a maximum of 20 guests at Buffalo Camp, special attention is paid to personal service and the staff become like friends. Kapama Buffalo Camp is a truly authentic way to experience the African bush. ... more   less
