Treated ourselves to 2 nights to see how the other half live! Stayed at Eagles Crag which has lovely individual lodges - we were in no.1 which was nearest to main buildings so very convenient. Like other reviewers I would agree the food is good but not outstanding and there is far too much available-3 course lunch at 1.30 followed... More

A luxurious combination of pampering in the Shamwari lodges and the game drives made this a great start to our holiday. The knowledgeable and enthusiastic rangers found as many animals as they could. Some great encounters with elephants, giraffes, lions and cheaters were very memorable. I loved the off-roading!

Our party took over all the 6 rooms at the lodge (the Chief Suite has hosted Tiger Woods) and it is truly magnificent! Monkeys on the balcony of our room in the morning drinking from the plunge pool. Food to die for - and you are fed at EVERY opportunity! Early wake up call for a morning game drive at... More

Very much enjoyed our safari, we saw pretty much everything going mostly thanks to our very experienced and knowledgable guide Siepo. Riverdene offers a great baby sitting service and our 11mth old was very well cared for when we went out for the game drives. The staff in general looked after is extremely well and the food and beverage selection... More

This was a fabulous experience. We stayed 3 nights. The ranger and jeep excursions were so exciting. Out in the jeeps at 5:45 AM for 3+ hours and out again at 4 pm. Our ranger's knowledge made this a very special experience. Our accommodations, dining, and the staff were perfect.

The people at Shamwari made our experience a memorable one. The service was fantastic, the food unparalleled, and most importantly, the safari experience was brilliant. Every detail was thought of. From the washed blankets in the safari jeeps, to the barbecue dinners, to the welcoming drinks and cold towels after the safari trip. Amazing!

Everything about Shamwari is fantastic. We stayed in Long Lee Manor for one night and Riverdene Lodge for two nights and had the most fabulous time. Alex was our ranger in Long Lee and JJ our ranger in Riverdene - both were excellent. The staff really couldn't do enough for you and their attention to detail was something to behold.... More

We stayed at Riverdene Lodge and were warmly welcomed by the team. As we checked in we were given tea and coffee and beautiful lemon cake and then asked if we wanted to join the evening game drive as they had already left (our delayed flight meant we arrived later than planned). So no sooner had we put our bags... More

Wow. Where do I begin? When we arrived at Shamwari, we were greeted by the kindest people and a cool towel and fresh, homemade lavender lemonade (which was incredible!). We were then given a tour of the grounds and I cannot express in words the amount of beauty this place has! The vibrant birds to the gorgeous design and decor... More
