We had a brilliant stay at The Bush House and left with some incredible memories. The staff are exceptional and from our warm welcome from Stephan and Sam, our drives with Heinrich, to the wonderful boma on our final evening complete with songs, everyone added to a wonderful stay. It's been mentioned by almost every review but the waterhole is...

We, a grand family of 14 incl 6 children in all ages, could not expect that all children could get exposed to wild animals. The Bush House Lodge was perfect in that sense - the ranger guides gave them the opportunity and the smarlty built bunker at the water hole next to the lodge allowed even the smallest ones to...

I've done a few safaris now and stayed at some special places, but the Bush House takes special to a whole new level. The staff are superb, and that's what makes it, right? Professional, knowledgeable, friendly, fun,attentive.....need I go on? And they obviously love what they do, and that rubs off onto the guests and the experience they have. Specifics:...

Thank you very much for your feedback on your stay with us. The team is small but very passionate about what they do and enjoying being with our guests. The "pond" adds an extra element to animal viewing and Ashleigh may be small but packs a punch with her game drives. We are hugely proud of everyone's efforts.

On our second trip to Africa, my fiancé and I decided to go back to Bush House, where he proposed to me two years ago, to get married. As before Sjoe (pronounced Sue) and Gordon, along with their outstanding staff, made the experience magical. In the midst of the wildest bush in Africa, there is this sparkling clean, meticulously decorated,...

My wife and I recently enjoyed a 4 night stay at the Bush House in Madikwe in early November. We caught the safari bug on our 1st trip to South Africa on honeymoon in the Timbavati over a decade ago. It has since become a passion of ours and in the years which have followed we have been fortunate enough...

I went to Madikwe, this year in September, with my best friend of 46 years. We have traveled together many times and we design and arrange our own itineraries. I found Madikwe on the web, along with The Bush House. Several things in the reviews made us want to go there. 1) Only people staying in hotels inside the reserve,...

Stayed at the Bush house in August with my 14 year old son. We both loved everything about the Bush house and would love to visit again. Sue is a very warm and friendly owner and nothing was too much trouble. We had some truly amazing sightings on our game drives and Heinrich was a very patient photography teacher !...

Thank you very much for your kind feedback. It really is such a gift to see a rhino close up especially from the proximity of the hide. We are thrilled that you were able to experience this for yourselves as they are such incredible animals.

Our family of 11 stayed for two nights, enjoying 4 safaris where we saw not only the Big Five, but also the 'Magnificent Seven'. The lodge itself is truly splendid, I can't put it into...

Safari isn’t just safari anymore…. And game lodges aren’t all alike. Every visit really does need to be special and every moment something to be remembered forever. The Bush House is not your typical Game lodge. The Lodge is set in the malaria free Madikwe Game Reserve. It is an old farmhouse that after years of family laughter and happiness has been transformed into an inviting and relaxing residence that encourages guests to kick off their shoes and unwind. ... more   less
