Historic house where Mabel Dodge Luhan held her salons which included D.H. Lawrence, Georgia O'Keefe, Ansel Adams and many other famous 20th Century writers and artists. The food was excellent, although you only get all meals when arranged by a group. I had a real sense of deja vu there. Staff and accommodations are pleasant. Taos is an incredibly beautiful...

-We were told that during Mabel's lifetime, folks called Taos "Mabel Town." Rich & bossy, she gathered famous artists to her salon, many of whom escaped her willful ways as soon as they could, despite the comfort of the lodgings. -The public parts of this inn are charming, well worth a visit. Doorways of the original adobe structure that pre-dated...

This B&B consists of the historical Mabel Dodge Luhan home and an adjacent building with additional rooms and a conference center. Located about half a mile from the plaza, but at 7000 feet above sea level you may find that to be a longer walk then normal. There's no TV or telephones in the rooms and your cell phone may...

We did not stay because they were full but did tour the place and just the history and the presents of such art talent was amazing the building its self is very cool and the door ways are very low so watch your head if you are over 5'8. All in all an great stop when you are in Taos.

What.a terrific place! I've wanted to stay here for years and finally got the chance at a writing retreat. For those who don't know, Mabel Dodge was a wealthy patron of the arts from New York who moved to Taos in 1917. She met Tony Luhan, a Taos Indian, whom she married. She attracted many painters, writers and others to...

We are thankful the property as been kept as close as possible to its original condition. It is full of history and a quiet sanctuary, perfect to unwind. We were serenaded by an owl, crickets and morning coyotes. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. The staff was helpful and very friendly. Before you visit be sure to read about Mabel Dodge...

This is a must for history buffs, oddballs, geeks, nice young couples, and anyone else with talent. And even though we were just passing through, having a look see, we were welcomed as royalty, shown through the most cozy kitchen we have ever experienced (where home-baked cookies were coming out of the oven), and followed out back to the herb...

I was at the Mabel Dodge Luhan House for an art retreat with a well-known artist/instructor. The site is perfect for getting out of the routine which can impede creative thinking. As some have noted, there are some spiders, some dogs, some dust and slightly rustic accommodations. I was perfectly fine with that. There were also bunnies, magpies, hawks and...

We stayed in the Gate House that was dirty, full of spiders and webs, and mice droppings. In the breakfast area there was a dog in the kitchen and dining room while they prepared our food. My whole family suffered from severe allergies the entire time we stayed here. This will be the last time we stay here.

I've taught a week long art retreat at Mabel Dodge Luhan Inn for the last three years, and I'll come back as long as they let me! It's a beautiful and rustic inn filled with history. It's quiet and feels like a step back in time. A true retreat from the world. Each room has its unique personality (do ask...
