I just returned from my fifth visit to beautiful, Casa Gallina. It doesn't seem possible, but it just keeps getting better and better. The problem is, it is so wonderful that you never want to leave! Richard has created a magical place that stays forever in your heart, mind and soul. Whether you are traveling solo, as a family or...

We arrived at Casa Gallina worn and frazzled from too much work and stress. After 3 nights in our beautiful and relaxing casita we were refreshed and serene. Our host , Richard, truly went out of his way to make us feel welcome and pampered. We arrived to wine and cheese and crackers and Richard kept us supplied in eggs...

The units at Casa Gallina are unique and wonderful, but what truly makes it a great experience are the efforts of the owner, Richard Spera. Richard goes "above and beyond the call of duty" to make his guests feel at home and ensure that their stay is a memorable one. My wife loved the furnishings and details of Barred Rock....

Casa de Gallina was recommended by a dear friend who has stayed there several times and raved as much about Richard Spera, its visionary owner, as the place itself. There is no way to "overcompliment" either. Without being cloying or intrusive, Richard welcomes you into what feels like home -- lovely, cozy, individual casitas, each unique, and each beautiful, each...

This is not so much a review as a testament of my gratitude for the wonderful weekend we spent at Casa Gallina. Walking through the front door (through a beautiful courtyard...with a hammock!), the kitchen and dining area took our breath away. This room offered a metaphor for the experience of the whole weekend: it was inviting, comfortable, beautiful, unexpected,...

Casa Gallina is a magical and unforgettable place. We stayed in El Gallo Grande for four nights and fell in love with the place. The house is inspired and inspiring. It is peaceful and welcoming - furnished and decorated in great taste. The wood floors and carved wooden furniture lend the space a natural simplicity and also a rich warmth....

Casa Gallina is located in an undeveloped area of Taos, New Mexico. The views are fabulous. You are surrounded by mountains! From the Bantam Roost casita upper deck, you can watch sunset, sunrise, and have a fabulous view of the moon and stars at night! Very little light scatter! And Richard Spera, our host, raises these absolutely unbelievable chickens! According...

Staying at Casa Gallina is less like a B&B and more like a vacation rental, but with a host who quickly seems like an old friend. Each of the 4 casitas or cottages is decorated differently and seems to have a very different character. We stayed in the Bantam Roost, a charming old-style adobe house on 2 levels, with a...

We had a lovely stay at Casa Galina the first week of December. The room is so beautifully decorated that you feel as if you truly are living in someone's well cared for home. Richard is the perfect host; he sat with us and shared some suggestions for local hiking areas, restaurants, and shopping. His daily gift of baked goods...

I had the great good fortune to spend a few days over Thanksgiving at Casa Gallina. Our casita was a total delight! Full of beautiful, unique artworks throughout, and appointed with everything that one could need. The kitchen and eating nook worked beautifully, and how we enjoyed starting our day cooking a breakfast with the fresh eggs that appeared magically...
