After almost thirty years it is still a wonderful place to stay! Comfortable room with a beautiful view over the lake....all though the beautiful trees are chopped off! A very nice breakfast with a great choice and all in all good value for money!

We stayed in a garden cottage. It was very comfortable and cosy. We walked into the town for dinner and returned to a warm room with the fireplace made up for us. We slept well as the bed was comfortable and it was peaceful and quiet. While we had breakfast our car was washed - what a treat! We would...

We wanted to spend an afternoon, evening and morning in Dullstroom and this came up best for families. Room was great, clean, comfy and great bathroom. All we needed. We met friends elsewhere for supper but used the bar for pre dinner drinks. Staff were great and no issue to give our friends access to wifi even though we were...

The best place to relax and become one with nature, but still in style! Beautiful rooms that you want to make your home, which is so cozy that you don't even notice it is cold outside. And excellent service with a burning fireplace when you return to your room. Would go back much more frequently if it wasn't so expensive......

Stayed at Critchley Hackel with mates and despite the allure of the Critchley Hackle offering and location I was somewhat disappointed with the experience. I was last here 22 years ago (to propose to my current wife) and it no longer has the allure it held before. I cannot find fault with the quality of the rooms and the setting...

Lovely place to stay! The location is ideal, the resort is beautiful and the staff are so friendly and helpful :) Loved the fireplace in the room and the room itself was nice and big. Beautiful views and the rooms are only a stones through away from the dam.

I stayed at Critchley Hackle in March this year, in order to attend a Wedding held there. The room was not ready when we arrived. No soaps had been put out, the sugar and coffee had not been replenished. After sorting this out, I wanted to use the safe to store valuables, but was told the key had been taken...

To correct the dates: my visit was in May 2015. Great hospitality, bar, fresh linen and restaurant. As for the rest, just not good enough. Clean the filthy carpets. The doors are poorly fitting - get a carpenter. The fireplace grid does not close and loses a fire risk. Improve the reception area.

I booked a 2 night stay at Crickley Hackle for August with an option to cancel with no cancellation fees. The hotel immediately debited my credit card with 50% which was part of the booking conditions. However in the meantime my plans changed and I subsequently cancelled the booking which I was entitled to at zero cost. I had to...
