My husband and I stayed at The Bay Lodge in Dec 2012, initially for 1 night but quickly extended our stay in this stunning B & B. What a beautiful place. The owner, Villiera, was the perfect hostess and truly made us feel at home. We have recommended The Bay Lodge to all our friends and will continue to do...

The location of the lodge is fantastic, in De Kelders which is a lovely little village just a couple of minutes drive down the road from Gansbaai and is even better than Hermanus for Whale watching as the whales come closer to the rocks. We could see whales from the balcony outside our room which was large and as with...

Got out of the the car and within 1 minute saw whales tail flipping! Villieria, the proprietor, was fantastically helpful and great fun, showing us the best places to both eat and see. We picked the perfect place to go to experience both the hospitality of the Western Cape and the wildlife - truly recommended. Breakfast was great........

Ute and I have been there during our trip around the Garden Route. The Bay Lodge in de Kelders is so much preferable to other locations in and around Hermanus. The whales come quite near the coastline here and from the Bay Lodge's veranda you have them virtually on the spot. Very nice and crisp location. Valieria is a perfect...

My husband and I stayed one night in March at The Bay Lodge. Our room was big and comfortable. The bathroom was immaculate with nice powerful shower. Lovely balcony where one can sit and relax. Very peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed a hearty breakfast the next morning. Villieria knows the area well and was helpful with advice about things to...

We stayed at The Bay for one night in January 2011. Our Host Villiera is a wonderful, friendly lady who does her best to run the place on her own. The rooms are part of the private house of a family, so you have to walk through their private living space to get to them. It is very quiet and,...

My partner & I spent 12 days in SA and the main activity on our list of things to do was a shark dive and whale watching. I choose to stay in this B&B due to the reasonable price and location (only 5 minutes drive from "The Shark Man") Villeria our host was lovely, very friendly and informative and we...

We stayed twice at the bay lodge in De Kelders. And for a good reason! Owner Villieria is just great. She makes you feel at home and is really helpful in f.e. organizing shark diving and whale watching (go from Gansbaai, not Kleinbaai!). Location is really close to the shore for great walking and being close to the whales. Enjoy...

This guesthouse is in De-kelders just on the outskirts of Gansbaii and about 3 minutes drive from the centre of town. The guesthouse has a fantastic sea front location and we could really see lots of the southern right whales right in front of the bay. The house outself is decorated in a beautiful way and doesnt feel like a...
