We had a pleasant stay at the lodge. The atmosphere has something of being private guests with the host. You always feel welcome and treated well. Please be aware that the bathroom - including the toilet - is not separated from the rest of room. Thus, you will not find privacy in that respect. Although that is generally no big...

Management response:

I am appreciated the fact that the guest would still recommend Whalesong Lodge. It is the client's right to comment if he is satisfied or not with the stay but It is unfair to say "toilet in the room" The bathrooms, the toilet in the corner with a window on top are divided from the bedroom with a 1.5meter high...

We had booked Whalesong Lodge, not because of the whales (sadly we were there at the wrong time) but because we wanted to see sharks! We were travelling to SA for a friend's wedding and Whalesong Lodge was our next stop. When we arrived we were greeted with tea, coffee and apple cake. Just perfect after our trip along the...

Looking out of your window straight onto the rocks and sea within 100 feet see the whales, smell the sea, listen to them calling - it does not get much better. Mine hosts very very helpful and brilliant cooks when they cook otherwise he knows the best eating places in town. Go on a whale watching trip with Dyer Island...

I accidently came across Whalesong lodge looking for a cage dive and checking out their website I knew my husband and I had to book the honeymoon suite with 180 views of the bay for one of our honeymoon nights. It turned out to be even better than imagined with amazing dinner cooked by the hosts (who obviously know a...

We stayed in the honeymoon suite and absolutely loved it. The big glass facade offers spectacular views of the bay from your shower, bathtub, bed and balcony. The area was very nice and the hosts are very helpful and friendly. We loved the homemade stuff for breakfast, like the passionfruit and tomato jam.. We will certainly return here one day!

We have been travelling to whalesong lodge from its very beginning - and we have been coming back every year since. The guesthouse is beautifully located right at the ocean, only separated by a small residential street with almost no traffic. In the whale season you can watch the whales from the spacious front balcony (or even from your room)...

We just had a fantastic week end at Whalesong Lodge. Stanley and Leany are great friendly hosts. We slept in the honeymoon suite, amazing views on the ocean, the room is just perfect. We will definitely be back this year to watch the whales. Oh yeah, and the breakfast is one of the best we ever had!

We were lucky enough to stay with Stanley and Lainy at their amazing guesthouse. From the reception that we received from them, the incredible views over the bay and the wonderful food (the mango risotto was something special!), it was a truly magical stay. And that was before we were able to sit on the balcony with a glass of...

Stanley and Lainy share this beautiful space generously - rooms are light and airy (the front suite a real treat), and the views spectacular. Lots of local info - winery trails a specialty, Kloeks @ Home agreat place for dinner. Eating in is a treat for both breakfast (perfect eggs) and dinner (grappa panacotta to die for), and all in...

The view alone is worth the price of a room, but add in the best breakfast ever had at a B & B, the wonderful room, and the most helpful proprietors, and you will never want to leave. Don't just book one night because you will regret it having to leave so soon. Plan to stay two or more.
