Meris and Seth Stout (owners) have done an excellent job over the past 10 or so years building this guest ranch. I'm a retired equine veterinarian and can attest to the health and welfare of their great trail horses. We rode through pine topped mountains and down in valleys following creeks through amazing canyons. I loved the geology of the...

We had a wonderful time at GTGR! From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel like family. Meris, Seth, and Kelly were the perfect hosts, very friendly and laid-back. They care for their guests like they do their horses, all lovingly looked after. The cabins were rustic, comfortable, and thoughtfully decorated. The meals, prepared by Chuck, were some...

I wanted a guest ranch that focused on riding horses that was small and family like with great scenery. I got this and much more. The ranch is next to Gila National Forest with lots of trails to ride or hike. No cell phone or WI-FI. Wonderful food. Nice cabin accommodations . Cozy, casual, rustic, and comfortable. Great horses and...

memories of GTGR are now my "happy place" when i get stressed out back here in the world. what a way to escape from it all, oh my god. nothing but the sound of horses, crickets, coyotes and hummingbirds. nothing in the sky but stupendous clouds and a billion stars. no lawn mowers, babies crying, sirens. IT WAS BLISS. the...

My husband had a trip like this on his bucket list so I agreed to go. My only concern was having a good horse that would behave :) My husband has good horsemanship skills and mine are fair - not a lot of confidence. The accommodations were great - clean and comfy. Food was wonderful. Meris and Seth take great...

First, I love adventure. I love horses and the outdoors. I personally ride and own horses. There are times in your life when you just do not have the time needed to haul your own animals. So for all you riders out there, if you are worried about being a "dude" don't, you will have a glorious time! Seth and...

Had big expectations at time of booking my stay.... Well, they were exceeded by far...!!! The whole place is neat! Very warm welcome, made me feel at home from the first moment of arrival. Hosts and staff are VERY friendly. The surrounding is perfect. The trailrides (perfectly organized and supervised) kind of magic! Even for me as beginner in terms...

This was an outstanding vacation for me and my best friends. Meris, Seth, Kelly, and Tim instantly felt like family, but when we said we felt guilty for not helping with dishes or the horses, we were told we were "on vacation" and to just relax--we all felt like we were honored guests. Our accommodations were clean and comfortable; the...

From beginning to end, this was an outstanding vacation. Planning stage: Although the ranch does not have access to cable or text, Meris somehow managed to respond to each of my emails within 24 hrs. (That was no easy task as I had many questions!!! ) Driving to and from the Ranch: Meris' directions are perfect; follow them and you...

This was our second visit to Geronimo Trail Guest Ranch and just like 'Toy Story 2' the second trip was better than the original!! Meris sorted the horse bit - knowledgeable, enthusiastic, happy - a real life 'Jess', whilst Seth sorted the meals - great salads, sweets and meat / fish dishes, always enough and of excellent variety and quality....

Geronimo Trail Guest Ranch is a real western adventure! Horseback riding or hiking takes guests through open meadows, tall ponderosa forests, up on high hills where the views go on forever, and down into deep canyons with sheer cliffs and crystal clear streams. From the "Top of the World" guests can view the 3.3 million acre Gila National Forest, Aldo Leopold and Gila Wildernesses. Elk, mule deer, wild turkey, javelina and other wildlife abound. Pit houses, Cliff Dwellings, and Pictographs (rock art) of the earliest inhabitants, the Mimbres (750-1150 AD) to explore in the immediate vicinity. This is the land Geronimo and the Apaches roamed.
