This was our third Sanctuary lodge and loved it. The private lodges are quite spacious and come with an indoor and outdoor shower. The staff are super nice and professional and the guides very respectful of the animals. We noticed at least two other drivers from a different lodge who got way too close to the animals just to please...

As soon as we arrived we were greeted like the booking was made two months earlier. Perfectly organised for us (booked an hour before arriving) with our own water bottles, a beautiful lunch and a gorgeous room with the best bath views of the Chobe River. Food was amazing!!!! Presentation was impressive and the wine so nice. They bought dessert...

From our arrival with the entire staff singing a greeting, to the last wave from the staff as we left, we were treated so very well. Cool cloth and a fresh drink presented upon each return. Food was absolutely tremendous and so vibrantly prepared. All the staff were very welcoming, provided detailed attentive service. Game drives were fantastic "thanks Chika!"...

Every single person at Chobe Cilwero lodge made us feel so special and we have not even regret of our honeymoon stay there. Food was amazing, our room was spacious, big, clean, well equipped. You felt like a movie-star. Honestly. The gardens are a perfect place for a walk and to spot some animals, even within the perimeter! Some bushbucks...

Sanctuary properties seem to get the brief- highly trained staff that are friendly and efficient- everything is thought out for you- little touches are there, silently without you having to ask- a hot bath drawn and waiting along with a bottle of champagne already chilled when you return from safari.....handwritten notes form various staff members- feels indulgent but with mongoose...

The Chobe region and in particular Chobe Chilwero and Linyanti Ebony blew our minds. It was great luxury for our budget and the staff were exceptional. The field guides and rangers had huge amounts of info and know the wildlife so well! I would like to think of myself as a relatively well travelled wildlife person, but I learnt so...

Going into this trip, we had no idea what we were in for. The travel medicine gave us all kinds of instructions. Told us to bring a stash of protein bars and some other stuff because we would not be able to easily drink water or eat "raw" food like fruit that didn't have a skin and green salad. Everything...

We stayed at Chobe Chilewero after a quite exhausting trip around Nambia but it was THE perfect place to unwind and chill out for a few days. On previous visit to Botswana we have done the more wild fly in safaris but this was different..... luxurious bungalows and spacious, with lovely touches. The welcome was warm, every member of staff...

We spent 2 nights and 2 1/2 days at this 5 star lodge on the Chobe River, as part of a week of Safari excursions between Zimbabwe and Botswana. The location, grounds, accommodations, game drives and service were unbelievably great. Our room was a suite with air-conditioning and Wi-Fi and a stocked, complementary mini-bar. There was an inside shower and...

Our experience at Chobe Chilwero was absolutely fantastic. The lodge overlooks the Chobe river and the view is magnificent. The cottages are huge and beautifully decorated; the food was delicious and the game drives / cruises the best we have ever had. Our guide Tony was very funny yet extremely knowledgeable. We saw lions, a leopard, wild dogs, hippos, waterbucks,...

Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero is a luxurious riverside retreat in the heart of the bush, with all of the facilities of a larger resort. The main area commands fabulous views over the Chobe River which borders Chobe National Park to the north. As well as the elephants for which the park is famous for, guests can relax in the split-level swimming pool, unwind with a pampering session in the spa or enjoy the gourmet food that the lodge has become known for. Each of the 14 thatched guest cottages has two showers, one inside and one outside. The ensuite bathroom also has a large free-standing bath. After a day of game viewing, what better way to relax than in your own private garden with a cocktail? Or if the fancy takes you, why not have your gourmet dinner served right here under the African sky. Coffee stations are now available for guest use in the rooms. Our honeymoon suite at Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero features a private plunge pool and deck area where guests will be able to enjoy private dinners for two under the stars (weather permitting) and special turn downs every night. Guests booking this room will automatically receive a private vehicle and guide for all game viewing activities. Coffee stations are now available for guest use in the rooms. ... more   less
