Everything you thought should be catered for it, 5 star meals and service are the norm. The twice daily safaris are the best you do water and land and their guides and trackers are some of the best I have seen. The rooms all have exceptional views of the Chobe River and their are baboons and wort hogs wandering around...

This is a wonderful lodge - five stars in every way. It's expensive, but you are really well looked after with everything included - even laundry and a complimentary mini-bar in your room. The staff were welcoming and went out of their way to pander to your every wish. I cannot praise them highly enough. Thank you for making our...

We ended our Botswana adventure at Chobe Chilwero. And what a perfect lodge to end your stay in Botswana! This was my favourite lodge of the trip as the service, food and rooms were superb! The rooms are extremely spacious offering a small lounge area, huge en-suite bathroom with bath and shower, mini bar, tea/coffee making facilities, outdoor patio area...

Our family (2 adults and daughters 13 and 5) had a fabulous time and amazing safari experiences... Chobe Chilwero was like heaven on earth ... genuinely welcoming staff managed by Evelyn and Crystal, a beautiful luxurious lodge with deliciously prepared meals by Chef Phineas (who took pride in his daily culinary creations, especially preparing special meals for our youngest) and...

My Partner Dale, and I, spent 2 nights here following on from 3 nights at Sanctuary's Stanley's Camp in the Okavango Delta. I thought Stanley's was brilliant, and Chilwero carried on the Sanctuary's experience with equally friendly staff, amazing food, incredible wildlife and first class accommodation. Unlike Stanley's where you stay in luxury tents, At Chilwero you get rooms, but...

Everything about this property is incredible. What makes it so special is the staff. They are genuinely concerned about the guests well being. The food is absolutely amazing and the extra touches make it a wonderful place to stay. The staff set up a table for our friends and us to have a dinner by candlelight on our porch overlooking...

(This review is late. We stayed at the Sanctuary in Jan 2015.) The Sanctuary was the third safari location for our family (Kalahari Plains Camp, Jao Camp). Our family rented three villas. Each of them had a strong unpleasant odor. Not sure what it was but we equated it to animal urine. It wasn't strong enough to force us out...

Dear Guest, Firstly, let me thank you for your positive comments regarding the team here at Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero as that means a great deal to us. We are troubled, however, that your experience with us did not live up to what you would normally expect from Sanctuary Retreats. You stayed with us during the rainy season and sometimes after...

Large suite of rooms which was beautifully and authentically appointed. Friendly staff and a welcome every time we came back to our too brief home from home in Chobe. The highlight was tenacious Chika who found us a pride of lions by the water at dusk and gave us the best G and Ts ever. Thank you all

We had 2 nights here and it was an excellent stay, albeit quiet with only a few American guests with us. Nevertheless, the staff food drink and accomodation were of the highest order , and whilst the games drives were in areas where there were others doing the same, we did see some excellent creatures, and a good evening cruise...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero is a luxurious riverside retreat in the heart of the bush, with all of the facilities of a larger resort. The main area commands fabulous views over the Chobe River which borders Chobe National Park to the north. As well as the elephants for which the park is famous for, guests can relax in the split-level swimming pool, unwind with a pampering session in the spa or enjoy the gourmet food that the lodge has become known for. Each of the 14 thatched guest cottages has two showers, one inside and one outside. The ensuite bathroom also has a large free-standing bath. After a day of game viewing, what better way to relax than in your own private garden with a cocktail? Or if the fancy takes you, why not have your gourmet dinner served right here under the African sky. Coffee stations are now available for guest use in the rooms. Our honeymoon suite at Sanctuary Chobe Chilwero features a private plunge pool and deck area where guests will be able to enjoy private dinners for two under the stars (weather permitting) and special turn downs every night. Guests booking this room will automatically receive a private vehicle and guide for all game viewing activities. Coffee stations are now available for guest use in the rooms. ... more   less
