We just returned from Africa of a month long safari. This is a typical bush camp. We stayed at this camp for 3 nights. Excellent, excellent. Great views. Great food. Great staff. If you plan on visiting Botswana, you can't go wrong by staying here. They even did daily laundry.

As part of a tour, we didn't specifically select this lodge but there was little to complain about. As with most of the safari camps, the staff is well trained to provide great service with a big smile. There was plenty of good food and the tented cabins were comfortable. Housekeeping was little lacking as they didn't know how to...

The delta waterway in front of the camp was dried up while we were there. Still a lovely lodge with a view. The rooms were lovely. The game drives were great. Good food. Lovely staff. Used to be a hunting camp, now Botswana only has game viewing. Good for them!!!!!

The high point of our stay at Banoka was hearing the lions roar at night and tracking them next day! Although the female leopard was also an outstanding memory. It was very hot during our stay so we appreciated siestas each afternoon. Very impressed by the knowledgeable guides who were able to show a huge variety of animals and birds....

It's the people that can make a wonderful experience exceptional. Customer service was top notch during our recent 40th anniversary trip to Africa. Kitso, our guide, Priscilla, Ivy and Junior, the managers, and all of the staff made sure our time at Banoka was perfect. The safari's were great and we got to see 3 of the big 5 (there...

This is a lodge and tented cabins in the wilderness of the Okavango Delta region. My recent visit was with 12 friends on a group adventure, and we stayed for 3 nights. We saw magnificent wildlife on our game drives in open land rover vehicles. We were always greeted upon arrival by singing, friendly staff, who took care of our...

If your interest in Africa, and more specifically Botswana, is experiencing the people and wildlife that define - and own - the landscape, Banoka is perfect. Excellent accommodations, food, and service. During our stay Priscilla and Ivy were in charge; competent women who were on top of their responsibilities. The guides were excellent, as was the entire experience. It doesn't...

I have been on a number of safaris over the years in Kenya, Zambia and Malawi. This camp is among the very best. Why? The people! So friendly and courteous. Mamma Bee, Auntie, Onnie and our guide Kabo were just superb - it felt like visiting friends. We were the only guests for 2 of the 3 nights but the...

Three days with friends at this great bush camp. Very high quality tented accommodation. Very well run by friendly and professional locals. Delicious food and a great guide. Nothing too much trouble. Rather scRy animal noises at night, but we WERE in the bush!

Thank you Lynda F for your delightful review, we are very excited to share this with all the hard working staff in camp. There is no need to be alarmed by any sounds you may hear. You are far safer within your tent than you are leaving to investigate the noise. Just relax and enjoy the sounds of Africa! After...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Named in honour of the Banoka(River San), earliest settlers of the Okavango. Banoka Bush Camp lies spread out in a broad semi-circle along the banks of a lagoon - in itself part of the well-known Khwai River. Its wide, raised wooden decks - whether the spacious tented units or the main area that includes a lounge and dining area and inviting plunge pool - are shaded by canvas, yet open to the scenes of wildlife coming down to drink. Highlights: The Khwai River is the north-easternmost 'finger' of the Delta, and meanders through an intriguing blend of floodplain, forest, reedbeds and woodland. Most activities focus on the Khwai River with wildlife drawn from the woodlands to its waters; sightings of elephant, buffalo, lion, lechwe and even wild dog are regular on game drive, while hippo, reedbuck and kudu are often seen from camp. Guests are also able to visit a local community - in this case, the Basarwa people of the Khwai Village. The camp is composed of 10 Tents (including 2 Family Tents): Tented units with en-suite bathrooms and are 100% solar powered. Experiences include: Day and night game drives, Mokoro excursions (seasonal), Guided walks, Catch-and-release fishing (seasonal), Community visits. ... more   less
