The building is very nice, beautiful morning room, lovely library, gorgeous staircase with a lot of history, the service is impeccable. Dinner was exquisite and plentiful, the desserts are gorgeous and imaginative. The room is spacious and nicely furnished, i especially love that it does not center around a tv like most (however posh) hotels these days. You can spend...

My wife and I went for a champagne afternoon tea, and what a treat! Good champagne, very fine tea (Assam) and excellent finger sandwiches, scones, clotted cream, jam and a variety of cakes made the day very special. Don't wait for a special occasion to go - make an occasion and enjoy it.

Was fortunate to stay here for three nigts. A wonderful hotel and house! Loved every minute of my stay. The room on second floor was just beautiful, as was the rest of the hotel. When booking, I asked for a duvet. And the duvet was in place! On a wonderful, comfortable mattress. Breakfast very good, dinner on two evenings also...

After a trip to Bicester Village for shopping we went to Hartwell House. Service excellent, large bedrooms and bathrooms, very comfortable, water and fruit provided in the room. Tried out the gym and pool. Dinner was excellent, once again excellent service from waiting staff and the sommelier, comfortable night's sleep. Breakfast was extensive, plenty of choices hot and cold. A...

Incredible luxury destination. The service was impeccable. I cannot speak more highly of all the wonderful start at Hartwell House from the security rate house by the stone arch entrance who was extremely personable and genuine to the reception staff and waiters at our wedding breakfast. Outstanding. They made us truly feel so special and welcome and looked after our...

From being met on arrival at the gate by Paul the bunker man, to having our bags being taken out to the car at the end of our visit, we were treated as though we lived in a stately home. On arrival our room was not quite ready due to us being early, so we took a seat by the...

My husband and I were invited as guest of Ronald MacDonald house to celebrate fundraisers and supporters in the last year. I had been to Hartwell House before but hadn't enjoyed dinner there. We had a set menu as there was quite a big group. We dined in a private dining room which was beautiful. All three courses were presented...

Excellent hotel with excellent food and service. Staying here is like living in a stately home with majestic rooms, personal service, an exquisite bedroom and best of all a library to read and take tea in. We loved it.

Old fashioned long lunch experience. Start with drinks and nibbles in the library whist browsing the menu and placing the order. Move to the main restaurant for a delicious lunch in comfortable, unpretentious surroundings. Great way to spend a Saturday lunch, and very reasonably priced

One night stay (room 22) with dinner to celebrate a birthday. So much of Hartwell House was perfect that I feel rather mean in not giving the full five stars but a star is lost because our room, which was otherwise splendid with a great view of the grounds and all the amenities you would expect, was baking hot and...
