Stayed over Memorial Day weekend. Have been campers for years (not here though.) The positives: the staff, although teenagers were always helpful and corrected everything they were able to do. Gary the manager, absolutely the best!!!! He needs to have his own campground--it would be run much better!!! The Delaware river---Great!!!The negatives: no rules are enforced. Crowds are a given-... A friend and I who are experienced kayak'ers rented and went on one of their advertised 'tours'. I was relieved that my friend was experienced (the outfitters did not ask about experience) as there was little or no safety briefing. Basically, this place slaps a PDF on you and sends you down the river on a kayak. It is a... More

I was there a couple of years ago and a member of a near by group decided to wake up his fellow campers just after sunrise. He did so by playing Diana Ross's "Touch Me in the Morning" with the volume turned up to 11. That evening, there was a group chant about Peperidge Farm Layer Cake. I don't know... More

It depends on what you want - for the back to nature, family crews or need some quiet time campers, better to avoid weekend stays OR find a site far from the river because that is where the crowds are - check the site map for site locations. You can even scope out the site before you settle in. However... More

We've been going to Kittatinny every year for the past 10 years. We have an annual canoe/camping trip with friends. The group I go with has been coming here for 25+ years. We always have a great time. You can be loud, to an extent, with out having someone come yell at you. But at the same time you can... More

I've been going to Kittatinny Campgrounds every year for the last 5 years. I always have a great time and I always look forward to going on this trip. There are 500-600 camp sites on this property and if you go on a busy weekend, expect to hear your neighbors. You should also expect spiders and other bugs in the... More

I went with 15 friends and we had a blast. Had our tents overlooking the river and plenty of space to set up extra tables. It was basically a big party, which is what we were looking for. Yes, we played music late and brought various noise making devices. Not sure why people are complaining about the accomodations -- it's... More

Stayed there August 12th and 13th with my husband and two small children along with family friends and there kids and parents. Was supposed to stay until the 14th but left on the 13th which was Saturday night. The area we had was nice, we had fun being with each other but at night when everyone should be sleeping it... Stay here if: ~you don't want to use a bathroom, pool or playground ~your like half-empty beer bottles left at your site that aren't yours ~you like loud obnoxious music blasted until after 1 a.m. ~you like the loud music exchanged for screaming drunk parties. ~you don't think cleanliness is a good thing. We had concert tickets for Bethel Woods... More

“If you do decide to camp here (I wouldn't), be persistent in making sure that you are placed in a "quiet" area. When I complained to the manager (nice guy), he said that there is an area where the "experienced" campers are placed. I have no idea where that is, but I figure it was much more quiet than our spot.”
