The room was dirty - the carpet, the walls, the bedding. Window curtains were literally falling off. Bathroom smelled really bad. Huge mold. Questionable clientele on each floor. Received a wake up call at 7am I didn't ask for. Lobby smells super musty. Elevator looks like a freight lift. Overall - an extremely delapitated place not worth a buck a...

The hotel Grand Royal Binghamton is a good place to stay while you are traveling. It's ideally located in downtown area. My room is clean. Attendants and managers are nice and easy to customers. Manager Kishore Punjabi is very kind and also very knowledgeable about the community, so very helpful. My stay there was quite pleasant.

Don't be deceived by the hotel pictures, reality is vey different. We were expecting a hotel with 19th century charm but instead were in a run down hotel that really should be gutted to the studs. The "lobby" as pictured by the hotel is no longer the lobby. You enter the hotel in the back of the building. The front...

Booked this room last minute for an overnight business trip. Decided to take my partner and turn the night before into a mini getaway. I love boutique and historic hotels - and from what I saw online this seemed to fit what we were looking for. The front of the property is beautiful - and looked so great lit up...

My wife and I chose this hotel as many other hotels in Binghamton were booked for family weekend at SUNY Binghamton University. Any available rooms at the chain hotels were inflated prices, about 50% more than regular rates. We figured we would take a chance on the Grand Royale based on the architecture of the building. That is really the...

First let me tell you, I LOVE old hotels. I LOVE historic hotels. I can easily see past many issues just to stay at a one of a kind gem in the making. These were my hopes with this hotel, but I was sadly disappointed. S*line the Manager was passionate about the hotel and the history. He was nice enough...

This dive hotel isn't a hole, but it's almost a hole. If it's your first date to this place then it might end up being your last date. After giving it a chance I WOULD STAY HERE AGAIN because the rate is right and the proximity to restaurants/bars is walking distance, but keep in mind this place is not for...

Came to Binghamton to visit son in grad school. Thought I'd stay at an interesting boutique hotel in the heart of the city. I read the other mixed reviews and took a chance. Really wish I hadn't. Fifth floor rooms in August are hot. AC in room isn't adequate. Had to ask for an additional fan. Front desk clerk demanded...

If you liked The Budapest Grand Hotel movie, you'll love staying at the Grand Royal. There are no uniforms for the staff so your never sure who's in charge. You get to make your own waffles in the morning if you are into high carb breakfasts. The front facade is the former Municipal Building (Looks Grand!) and the reception is...

A cursory glance of the Grand Royale hotel in Binghamton, New York, might reveal a hotel that has passed its hay day; However, a closer examination reveals a management devoted to restoring the hotel to days gone by. The management, headed by the owner Salim, works particularly hard in making your stay comfortable. On the weekends, the hotel boast a...
