The hotel is very nice with large rooms, a small frig, and a microwave. We were on the lower level near the pool and whirlpool which our grandkids loved. I read reviews saying that there was a deep chlorine smell which I did encounter and my eyes burned a little. The front desk attendant said she will report that to the manager and believes it is caused by the whirlpool. While slightly uncomfortable, this did not detract from having a wonderful time here.
The free breakfast was excellent with a big selection including eggs, muffins, saysage, bacon, bagels, juice, coffee, pastries, and a pancake machine. The breakfast area was very comfortable.
The hotel is only 4 miles from the Baseball Halk of Fame, very convenient.
Great hotel! We loved it and highly recommend it! This hotel "Hit a Home Run" for us!
I had called to inquire about connecting rooms, updated amenity option and various questions regarding the post covid hotel expectations. Dan at the front desk was thoughtful, patient and addressed our every query! Upon check in, Sabrina was efficient and detailed. She gave us the breakfast options, told us about the reservations for the pool use and confirmed that Dan had called to make sure our rooms were away from any excess noise as we had our little one on his first trip. We are seasoned travelers and these are truly the standards of going above and beyond.
The next morning, Shannon helped route our billing details as we had two rooms, offered an extension for pool use as the time slot was available and was outstandingly knowledgeable about the surrounding area. We cannot say enough great things about the staff at this property. Thank you, team! We will certainly be back to visit!
The rooms are clean and standard for HIE, paired with microwave and fridge in every room. Perfect for family travel. Do not hesitate to book this property as the staff really makes the stay shine.
Location is perfect. It's right on Route 28, 4 miles from Main Street Cooperstown and a really easy drive there. It's also located next to a small shopping complex with a McDonald's and a supermarket.
COVID-19 notes:
Masks are required by all guests and staff in public places within the hotel, unless sitting at a table eating breakfast. Mostly everyone complies.
Breakfast: Due to COVID-19, the breakfast options are very limited. It's a grab and go breakfast with yogurt, fruit, juice, coffee and a small packaged bagels. The breakfast server will toast your bagel on request. The do have limited tables in the breakfast room to eat at. The do clean the tables after each person leaves. But they do appear to prefer that you eat your breakfast in your room due to social distancing and space limitations.
Pool: You need to make a reservation at the front desk to use the pool/hot tub. Reservations are in half hour time slots. You are permitted to stay longer as long as there are not more than 10 people in the pool area at a time. Also, it's probably not recommended that you share the hot tub with strangers at this point in time.
So in summary, this is a great, basic hotel in a very drivable location from Main Street in Cooperstown. Despite staying during the worst part of the pandemic so far, they did everything to make us feel safe and at home.
Room was not worth the price but a worth a good nights sleep which is what I usually base the service on as I am quite a light sleeper
The hotel’s room cleaning staff had masks, but chose to keep them around their neck, rather than over their nose and mouth, while cleaning guest rooms. None of us like the Covid rules, but if you want the travel industry to return, please follow them.
