This Motel has many great qualties, It is located a 10 minute walk to downtown Cooperstown and the Hall of Fame. The Motel has free Parking so you can park here and walk to the Hall of fame and downtown Cooperstown (Parking is $15 in a lot there or 2 Hour Paid Parking in the Street) The Rooms were large and not cramped and were clean. The staff was very attentive and the rooms were reasonable priced

The only reason I didnt give the place 5 stars was because it didnt have breakfast, but its otherwise a good choice for budget Lodging in Cooperstown within walkable distance to the Hall of Fame and Main St

The Mohican Motel has a wonderful location. We stayed there a week. No matter where we went in the Cooperstown area it didn't take more than 15 minutes to drive there. The shuttle stops right in front of the motel. The refrigerator was a little small. We had trouble fitting the drinks and food we had in there. On a positive note, we never ran out of hot water, although the temperature in the shower was hard to adjust. The bed was comfortable. We had everything we needed while we were there. They even had daily housekeeping, which is hard to find these days. In addition, they provided parking spaces free of charge very close to the room. If we go back to the Cooperstown area, I would not hesitate to stay there again. The price was reasonable, considering the rates I saw for other accommodations in the area.

We received a warm welcome. It's not the Ritz Carlton but we had a great stay. Fab location and it's lovely to sit out in the garden and have a drink.
Air conditioning was perfect and free parking.
Great value

Arrived to a box fan and a door open to our room. Walked in to nasty musty odor that made it uninhabitable. Not surprisingly we were not moved to a better room. But the expected refund was refused by the smug, smirking woman at the desk we presume to be an owner. Save your money and buy better.

Just returned from a overnight trip to Cooperstown, NY. Needed a place to stay & a room at Mohican Motel was available. This motel is in the middle of town so it is conveinent to the Baseball Hall of Fame. It is only a 15 minute walk to the Hall. If you just need a place to sleep, this is it. No luxuries, no amenities, just a clean room, small bath & shower, reasonable rates. The staff was very helpful in directing us to the Hall, and the next day when we checked out, she allowed us to leave our car parked there while we went into town to get breakfast. (parking is difficult near the Hall). So we would definately stay @ Mohican again, and we have since the first time was about 10 yrs ago when our sons were small. A good value , quiet and conveinent.

I have stayed at the Mohican Motel every year for five years for two nights in July. It sure is nice not to have to wait in line to check in. Check out is a breeze, only have to return the key. I have never had to ask for extra toilet paper as there has always been an extra roll in the room. But the help has never been slow to move when I asked for extra pillows. The office help directed me to a great restaurant, the Pepper Mill. And my room has always been SPOTLESS. I will keep coming back to Cooperstown because I LOVE baseball and I will keep staying at the Mohican Motel because their rooms are comfortable. I will never stay in a B&B again. I hated having to wait a half hour to use the bathroom every morning.

We made reservations explaining I had a service dog. My dog is a trained hearing dog. When we arrived, the owner,Celest, asked to see our service dog registration and my physicians report explaining why I needed a service dog. These requests are in violation of the Americans with disabilities act , however I have all of my documents, and provided them to her. I am a 39 year police veteran, and have 70% hearing loss. My hearing loss is clearly stated in the physicians report the owner was reading. It is the primary need for my dog. However, my physicians report also states that I suffer from anxiety. The owner said she would not rent me a room. She stated she “does not rent rooms to people with emotional problems “ I explained to her, of course I have some anxiety after 39 years of police work, but my hearing loss is the reason for my dog. She explained me, the dog isn’t the issue. I was. She explained to me again, she will not rent me a room, because she felt I have “emotional problems” we were asked to leave.

There was a "very" bad odor in the room. Turned on the air, opened the window, turned on the bathroom vent. Didn't help. When I asked for a refund because we were leaving due to the smell, they told me no because we had use of the room for over an hour. During that hour, we were trying to air out the room. She was rude, and refused to give back any of our $131.00! I would not recommedn this hotel to anyone!

Response from celesteCooperstown, Owner at Mohican Motel
Responded 31 Aug 2010
That room does not smell. People have rented since with no complaints. In fact it is now rented for a week. I don't think someone would stay in a room for a whole week if the room smelled. Mr. Sherburn you were in that room for one hour and 45 minutes before you said anything. Why did it take you so long to decide you didn't like the room???? What I think the problem really is you are a smoker and wanted a smoking room. You were told when you made the reservation that the room is non-smoking. You shouldn't have reserved the room if you couldn't live with that fact.

Stayed here after staying one night up the street at the Cooperstown Motel(never again). it is like night and day. Clean, friendly, quiet. fridge, coffee maker, bathroom was nicely tiled on floor, bed was very comfortable. The owners are very friendly and accommodating, I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Within easy walking distance to the distillery and BB Hall of Fame and all of Main St. I stayed there Sept16/14

After driving for nearly twelve hours, my family was expecting a nice place to get a little R&R for the night. However, after arriving at the Mohican Motel, we quickly realized that that would not be the case.

First off- the smell. It is so repulsive, we had to keep the door open and spray a bottle of cologne. And that didn't do much at all. The scent induces headaches.

The room was small and cramped- hardly any floor room. Ancient furniture, shady-looking bathroom.

Was absolutely, 100% not worth the $150 for one night. Personally, I would've rather slept in my car in a Walmart parking lot. Totally horrendous.
