We've been using Gilchrist Marina since year 2012 for our island camping trips (2-3 times a year). Never had any problems with the owners/marina itself. Yes, you have to be good backing up your trailer because the ramp is tight. Also, you cannot dock your boat there - it's only launch and retrieve so plan accordingly. This place served our...

A nice deep ramp that accommodates boats to 32 feet. Fine staff for all your needs. Boat & pontoon rental, hourly, daily, weekly , skiing, tubing, comes free with rental. Fishing, site seeing, Cliff diving jumping & more. Rent a boat or a pontoon, camp on long Island or one of the other beautiful islands that lake George has to...

The old man and his son or son in law are miserable. I made a reservation on the phone for dock space and the price was doubled when I arrived there the next day. I was verbally abused for no reason. I wouldn't leave my boat there if it was free. The only thing worse than their attitude is the...

We rented a pontoon boat for an hour. The owners' children came out to meet us as we drove into the lot and were very helpful. Renting the boat was uncomplicated. The only problem we had, which didn't really affect our ride, was that both the speedometer and gas gauge did not seem to be working. I would go back...

Arrived here on a busy Saturday morning during the peak of the summer and was helped immediately. Did the folks there seem very happy to be running around helping several groups of people at once? No, not really, but the overall staff provided me what I was interested in, and quickly. I wanted to get out on the lake and...

Set your expectations accordingly. Is it small? Yes. Is there limited parking? Yes. Are some of the boats old? Yes. This is not one of the marinas in the center of the tourist "mecca" that is called Lake George Village. It is family, not corporate, owned and operated. My wife and I have been using Gilchrist Marina for years to...

This Marina is horrible! First off very small! If you are not good with your trailer .... On hill, tight turn, and launching in 2 feet of water. They charge you for your car and trailer.... 25 dollars a day. If you are staying on an island and want to come in to get your car.... Forget it! They have...

Not sure how they stay in business, but they are completely uninterested in making a customer happy, and just looking to take your money. We've had several bad experiences with them, and although they boast on being customer centric, they are far from that. The owners are vindictive, and once they get your money, you are garbage to them. The...

We had reserved a pontoon boat for a family event. When I called to confirm the reservation, they had given away the boat to another party that had wanted a week long reservation. Their prices might be cheaper, but they completely lack professionalism. Not worth the risk.
