Visited the place with my family. The place is run down needs some serious refurbishment, but the staff are doing all they can to make visitors feel at home. We had our own food, well cooked by the staff. May the 'owners' fix the bathrooms, toilets and pool. The staff cleaned our rooms to the best of their ability. The...

Sorry to see that conditions have fallen on hard times at the Lodge. We stayed for 5 days and had a wonderful time. Yes the cold plunge pools were not filled with water but the swimming pool was. The bar was stocked as well as the kitchen. Sam prepared excellent meals....you would not believe it but he cooked over coal...

We were on a 2 week safari, and booked to visit Chizarira between Hwange and Musango. When we got there the driver surprised us with a boot full of food and 2 bottles of wine, plus diesel to start the generator! We are just coming back from a 2 months trip in Namibia and Zimbabwe and Chizarira is one of the best place where we stayed . We spent 3 nights in September 2010 in this wild lonely place. It is the fourth time we have visited and the effort to reach this off the beaten track lodge is well worthwhile. The lodge rooms are immaculate - open to wonderful views from the escarpment. Food is terrific (we are vegetarians) cooked by Sam. We are birders and...
