If you're thinking of making a trip to Lake Kariba and considering staying at Spurwing - DO !! We have just returned from a trip to Zimbabwe and were luckily enough to choose Spurwing as a starting point before boarding our houseboat. There were 24 of us from the UK, including 7 children, (youngest turned 5 whilst we there). One...

Such a lovely place to have a family holiday. I have 3 very young kids ( 8month baby, 2 year old , 4 year old) and it was perfectly safe there with lovely lawns, sandy beach and a pool. The staff in particular are super helpful and nothing is too much for them. I can highly recommend going fishing on...

Spurwing is a place to escape for a while. Not luxury, no pretensions; but great price, good food and service, competent and very friendly staff. The location is fantastic, views and sunsets gorgeous, game drives very different from the usual bush experience. Thoroughly recommended!

Could not have wanted for anything and they were always there to assist. Fishing for bream was brilliant and the bream bar snacks second to none!! They were amazing and I would recommend you ask them...

I had a nice time @ Spurwing. I would like to commend the whole team for the their attentive welcome. The food, game drives and fishing cruises were well organised even though it was scorching hot. The tented rooms needs little touch ups.

The rooms are run down and are in desperate need of refurbishment, but they are clean, comfortable with plenty of hot water. Lovely open air restaurant and Bar, great pool with...

Spent 5 days at Spurwing Island with a bunch of my hooligan mates to do some fishing. Rooms were basic but the views were spectacular. Had the world cup games on the telly and the beers were cold. What more do you need? Mitch and his team worked tirelessly to make our stay as enjoyable as possible and I can...
