Wilderness have hospitality taped. Every camp (and I've been to a few around Africa) is beautifully built and established to best fit the site with ecological sensitivity. Ruckomechi is no exception to this rule. The seating, bar, dining and lounging public areas are thoughtfully placed and maximise the exceptional views of the river. Decoration of and thoughtfully curated rooms with...

Ruckomechi is a 5* Tented Camp on the banks of the stunning Zambezi River. Our tented bedroom was incredibly comfortable with everything that you need to make your visit memorable and relaxing. The shower overlooking the Zambezi River with elephants grazing nearby. The front of house managers, Eddie and Michelle were excellent. They were on hand 24/7 for all your...

Ruckomechi Camp was our second camp during a recent trip to Zimbabwe, we stayed there for 3 (too few!) nights. The similarities with other Wilderness Camps we have visited in Namibia (5 times and Botswana (2 trips)) are the universal but still always outstanding kindness of our hosts and guides (thank you Charles!!), the impeccable tents, the great food and...

We stayed three nights at the Ruckomechi Camp in Mana Pools. The wildlife was terrific. The camp was beautiful with spacious rooms, wonderful food, gracious staff, and great dining and pool areas. This was a fantastic camp - we stayed at 4 Wilderness Safari camps and all of them were great. The best part of the camp was our guide,...

Dear Damon, We are glad to see that even though you were unable to find the lions you enjoyed your game drives with the fabulous Tendai - we will be sure to send him your regards. Mana Pools is a beautiful area, it is a remote, wildlife-rich place with spectacular views of the river, floodplains, the tree canopy and the...

Spent 3 nights here in early May. Camp is very luxurious. In fact the tents are over the top. They are huge with a sitting room area, sleeping area and a bathroom. The shower with a view is lovely but the rest is a bit too much. The intimacy of an old fashioned safari tent has been lost. This feels...

Situated on the banks of the Zambezi River, this place provides fantastic 5-star tent accommodation, breath-taking views of the sunrise and sunset over the Zambezi with loads of hippos, elephants, and other assorted critters. This is a very well managed place with very friendly, helpful staff. The food was 4/5 and the game drives and walks were very good. A...

Ruckomechi camp is the ideal bush experience - completely immersed in beautiful and authentic natural surrounds. From the moment of your arrival, you are welcomed by amazing staff - kind, warm, knowledgeable and really there to make your holiday! The accommodation, although tented, is by no means simple - the rooms are beautiful and cater to your every need. Morning...

Staff: Top notch as before, Rucko functions flawlessly (thanks to good management & staff, thanks Eddie) Guides: Temba, Chris, Engilbert some great guides and they work together as a team. Of our many African safaris, our stay here tops the list due in large part to our game viewing experiences. We stayed here in November 2015. We saw a triple lion kill, a leopard, wild dogs, and more. Our guide, Honest, was among the best we’ve had – knowledgeable, professional, responsive, and in tune with the place. The tented accommodations...

This is the sixth Wilderness Safaris camp we have stayed at and it superseded all our expectations. For anyone who wants to experience the real, untamed African wilderness, this is the place to go!
