My boyfriend and I stayed at The Colgate Inn for one night over Valentine's Day weekend. The inn is beautifully situated on the town square, and has a feeling of elegance and warmth immediately upon entering the lobby. The rates were affordable, and we stayed in a beautiful suite (The Falcone Suite) which was impressively designed, had a large bathroom...

This hotel is in downtown Hamilton, NY. It's a quaint town. It's only a 10 minute walk to Colgate University. Within a few blocks of the hotel, there's a bookstore, coffee shop, several restaurants and a gorgeous town green. The rooms in the hotel are spacious, clean and quaint. My room was super comfortable -- and there were jacuzzi jets...

I am definitely coming back to this hotel. Easy to get to from Albany and this small town is beautiful. You must eat there as the food and drink selection were amazing. The rooms were beautiful and warm. Loved the hardwood floors in your room! Can't wait to get back

My wife and I stayed at the Colgate Inn for one night for my nephew's wedding. Clean and comfortable overall. No in-room coffee, no safe, small bathroom. The rate was $160 for a fairly small room with a queen bed. Strangely enough, my dad, by himself, had a much bigger room with a king size bed. Go figure. BTW, the...

This is a pretty little inn. The bathrooms are traditional but small. Bedrooms were the same. It is very similar to a bed and breakfast. For the area it is the best hotel. It has modern conveniences but still has the old inn feel. Loved the breakfasts here and service was very good. A must stay in the area if...

My son and I recently toured Colgate University and spent the night at this lovely inn. It is situated right in the heart of Hamilton, about 1/4 mile from the university. Check in was efficient and welcoming, the rooms are very well appointed with flat screen tvs and updated bathrooms. The bed was extremely comfortable with nice linens. We enjoyed...

Tavern/restaurant: awesome! Decor, lobby, friendliness: awesome! Quiet sleep: not good The HVAC does not allow the temp to be set below 68 and even worse doesn't allow the fan to be set to permanently "on". The hallways and walls are a bit noisy so you can't sleep unless you bring your own white noise machine. Mattresses are also softer than...

If you're in the area, make sure you stay here. They really capture the details of a small town with this Inn - the price reflects it, it's a bit expensive for the area. The bed was incredibly comfortable and I didn't have any noise issues. The restaurant attached was delicious for both dinner and breakfast. The room I stayed...

I travel quite frequently to college campuses for work and have stayed at other inns in college towns--both the Middlebury Inn and the Williams Inn--and the Colgate Inn is in a class by itself. Beautiful renovations without losing the historic character of the building. Tasteful furnishings and impeccably clean bathroom. The small details also make a big difference--from local chocolates...

The Colgate Inn is beautiful and situated at the bottom of the commons that leads up to Colgate. Much like other college inns (the Nassau Inn at Princeton or the Nittany Lion Inn in State College, PA) we have enjoyed staying close to the campus for the buzz and collegiality that proximity spins. The Colgate is in the same flavor...
