The 25 minute Journey from the airport brought me to reality immediately I'm actually in Africa (a third World Country) - it had many poor people and places. We arrived at the not so good entrance and right away our bags were secured and taken towards the holding area. We were greeted by a wonderful lady (manager - Jenny) and...

I stayed at Ngala Lodge at the beginning of April for 11 nights and was travelling on my own. It was a lovely relaxing break. Jenny and her deputy were always around checking up that all was well. I have to say the staff were magnificent, they couldn't do enough for you. The other guests at the hotel were also...

This is our 5th visit to Ngala and it remains as wonderful as ever. It's difficult to say which is the best feature as they are all so good. I would say that one of it's advantages is that there are no children to disturb the peace and tranquility, the noise from other people's little darlings are not my idea...

We have just returned from Ngala Lodge and it was everything and more than we expected it to be. The location is picture postcard perfect with beautiful gardens very well maintained and quirky pieces of sculpture dotted around the grounds. The food is outstanding but what makes it so special are the staff ,they can't do enough to help you...

We stayed at the Ngala Lodge for 10 days in early April this year. It is blissfully quiet as they don't accept children under 16 years old always a bonus for those of mature years! The weather was perfect both sunny and hot; the facilities are very comfortable and the food delicious. The staff are delightful and always attentive and...

We stayed at Ngala Lodge on half board over Christmas and the New Year in their Manor Suite. The room was really lovely but having only one leg, it was very difficult for my husband to get down to the slope of the private lounging area and the steep steps to the restaurant on that side. We really enjoyed our...

Everything that has been said about this very special Hotel is true. We stayed with friends in the Manor Suites 11 and 12 ,which were comfortable and spacious, with spectacular views over the gardens to the Sea. The rooms were kept spotlessly clean by Omieu, a lovely, friendly girl, so typical of the wonderful Gambian staff. Thank you all for...

Ngala lodge is beautiful. A gorgeous retreat from the craziness of The Gambia. Really stood out from other venues which was ideal for a special meal. Food was great and perfectly presented. We had starters, mains, a beer and glass of prosecco between two and it came to 22,000 dalasi - about £33. Had a free dessert each due to...

We stayed in Rooms 1 and 2 during our stay (at the beginning and end of our trip). Both rooms are on the first floor main building, had balconies, were very large, nicely appointed and beautifully decorated. The beds were some of most comfortable we have slept in anywhere. Room tip - request Room 4 or 8 as both are...

We stayed in room 3 (Nimba) in the main building. The room was huge but was rather dark. The mini bar was stocked up everyday but I did think for a 5* hotel we could have had a complementary bottle of water every day. I had contacted Gambia Experience (as they allocate the rooms) 3 weeks prior to see what...

Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Beese is indeed a very popular suite but some guests will not stay if Nimba is not available - it all really is a matter of taste! The weather has indeed been cooler than average, particularly at night. This dip in temperature is not expected to...
