Varanda has excellent hospitality at a spectacular setting, and is a great place to use as a base for exploration of surrounding islands, reefs, and beaches. When I told the owner Tony Manna I was interested in going to places where debris washes ashore from the open ocean, in the hope of finding something from the missing Malaysia Airlines 370... More

We arrived at Varanda after getting very ripped off from the airport (only pay 300 mets max for a taxi). The owner Tony was not there but we were let in by the Raul and the rest of the staff. To be honest at first we weren't that jazzed about Vilankolos - I had been there 10 yrs ago and... More

Hi, Thank you for your review. We apologise for the wi-fi but there is a problem with the service supplier and I forgott to tell you about that. I was hopping they will fix in time. About the hallway security I have to say that we never worried about that because Varanda is a safety place and we never had... More

We stayed here for 6 nights. It's a nice hotel, the room was very comfortable and clean. The views were great from our room! The bed was a bit too small for us (I would say about 1,60 m wide) and the mosquito net was not suitable for the bed. It was one of those dome mosquito nets, but the... More

Varanda is located right along the beach and is the perfect spot for a private paradise experience. Each of the rooms had it's own nautical theme and decor, which made the rooms feel extra special. With only 5-6 rooms available, Varanda is extremely private and intimate...definitely not your typical hotel or bread & breakfast. The service was also top notch... More

Varanda surely must have the best views in Mozambique - an azure blue sea with a sky to match, peace and quiet in the summer sunshine with plenty of water based activities nearby. Many hours were spent lounging on the veranardah taking in the spectacular scenery and fishing scenes. Our host Tony went beyond the call of duty to ensure... More

We loved it here! The room was beautiful with a sand terrace where we enjoyed late evenings and the early morning sunshine. Having a view of the Indian ocean from the room was amazing. Tony is an excellent host, nothing was too much for him. He gave us recommendations with what to do, helped us arrange different trips and gave... More

Varanda is a true hidden paradise! Located just 20 meters from the beach, it has a laid-back atmosphere and is just the perfect place to spend a relaxed holiday. The rooms are nicely furnished and have a wonderful ocean view from where you can watch the local fishermen with their boats. All rooms have sand-terraces and are very quiet -... More

We had a wonderful time here. Comfortable rooms, beautifully decorated, with spectacular views over the ocean. The food in the restaurant was always excellent, and it was a great place to relax with a beer and watch the fishing boats come in. Tony is a great host, friendly, knowledgeable and always helpful. The welcome from him and his team was... More
