I loved the location far from everything else in the middle of amazing light and colors. The stone dunes turn bright red at sunset and are worth going up on during the sunset drive. Only downside for me is, that Sossusvlei is quite a long drive in the morning, so personally I'd recommend going there first (maybe camp inside the...

Breath taking this lodge is situated at the foot of the fossilised dunes. Wake up to Gemsbok right outside your chalet. Chalets are clean and comfortable with air conditioning to allow you to sleep at night. By day the pools are a fantastic and a welcome reprieve from the heat. Great place to stay whilst exploring Sossusvlei. Dinners and night...

We have used Gondwana before, so chose the Namib Desert Lodge as the final stay of our holiday. The excellent facilities, comfortable room, friendly staff and great food justified our choice. We enjoyed the walks around the lodge and hope that these can be enhanced. We recommend 2-3 nights in this delightful oasis.

The lodge is large so if you are unfortunate you will find yourself with quite a walk from your room to the pools. But the pools do make up for the inconvenience. A hike across the river bed and into the dunes before breakfast is recommended, although the flies can be a bit much. Others have commented about the management...

More of a resort type of property with nice rooms. The rooms are spread out so it's a tiny walk to the parking lot with your belongings. Hotel food is decent, pool is nice, AC in rooms work well. Coming from desert quiver camp (amazing) it was most definitely a downgrade. If I had to do it again I'd stay...

The rooms are a bit old but they have generous and fairly private terraces. It is a larger hotel compared to others we stayed in in the area (ie tour groups for example), but the green gardens and the swimming pools are very pleasant to spend a quiet afternoon between long car journeys and early starts; we combined this hotel...

Lovely lodge style hotel. We could sit on the stoop and watch oryx coming to drink at the waterhole, sandstorms, a fabulous view of the fossilised dunes. Our air-conditioning was the flea in the ointment It didn't work. It was hot. We didn't sleep well.
