This was our third visit to Buffalo and we always love to come back. It seems to typify what Zambia is all about. Peace, quiet, a real bush experience, away from the world, but still with that frisson of excitement that only truly wild places can offer. It it well worth the long drive. The animal sightings are second to...

We discovered unfortunately that North Luangua does not allow self drives... We had booked camp sites at the "entrance" and "exit" of the park (arriving via Mpika). We changed our plans last minute and booked two night self catering at Buffalo. We have no regrets!

I could have watched the beautiful view from this camp all day. Buffalo Camp is set in a wild, remote area of North Luangwa where the only other people to encounter are those staying in the camp. Mark Harvey was a great host, entertaining us with stories from his childhood and life in the bush and always checking we were...

Buffalo camp was everything we've had expected and more. It was exciting and relaxing at the same time, the kids had the most wonderful time. The walking safari's with mark as a guide, with all his knowledge and his wonderful and funny story's were amazing. Mark had arranged for letting them drive with the jeep (They are 10,12, 14 and...

We had an amazing stay, enjoying the beautiful views, comfortable lodging and wealth of knowledge and experience of the local environment. An essential part of a tour of Zambia. The walking and night safaris were excellent and allowed us a chance to see the environment and the animals in a truly natural state.

I stayed here last week. We had been touring around Zambia and had stayed in some OK places but also some hell-holes. What a relief to find this place. Luxurious in a very simple way. Wonderful views and a delight to see the chalets were made of local materials purchased from local people. At night there was the excitement of...

Dear Russell Thank you very much for the review. I am really glad you enjoyed it and hope to see you out here again. Hopefully you can come back with your wife. I made a fairly swift recovery from the dreaded malaria so I am sorry I wasn't able to entertain you on your last night. Thank you again Mark

It's difficult to describe Buffalo if you have not been there. It is very remote but well worth the journey. Our favourite camp in Zambia. It is a true Bush Camp, where you are living very close to nature and where you feel privileged to have been invited to live amongst the animals. The sightings are amazing and all the...

We visited buffalo camp on a three weeks drive through Zambia (mostly camping) and it was the highlight of our trip. We drove in from the North (spent a night at Kapishya before driving into the park). It is certainly a long drive from Lusaka (via great North Road) or South Luangwa national park but well worth it and, at...

I spent two nights in North Luangwa / Buffalo Camp - highly recommended. Very quiet place with small huts perfectly well integrated into nature. You lie in bed and can watch what's happening at the luangwa river. Beside this, the park is easiest explored on foot, which adds another component to the experience as you don't have to sit in...
