Yes the place could use a bit of an update but its clean, right in the middle of all the action and the price can't be beat. I only needed a room for one night and it served its purpose. I don't think I'd want to stay there for a week but if you're on a budget, and want a...

Hotel Hidalgo is in a great location and cheap. When booking, ask for a double with a balcony. There is street noise but the other rooms don't have windows to the outside - they are arranged around the patio. The single rooms would satisfy only a monk - a bathroom window opens to the hall, that's all. The rooms are...

I actually stayed in three hotels in Queretaro on this trip, and found the Hidalgo an outstanding value. The colonial setting and courtyard are equal to the Marquesa and Quinta Santiago. The room, for $32 bucks, is fine, with an excellent bathroom. It is naturally plain & ordinary, but step out the door and your in a magnificent colonial setting...

Room was dingy, sad looking and dirty. Bathroom was fresh however. Courtyard was most pleasant.. The biggest problem was the "invisible" safety box. We expected safekeeping because they had said they had it. Therefore, upon arrival, we left all our documents etc... for safe keeping. They took them away and they did not expect to even hand out a receipt....

Excellent location, near the central plazas and historic core of the city. The room we had was ok - a little dark, but clean enough. My wide and I had heard that it was best to book a room with 2 double beds (even though we only needed one) because these rooms are larger -and from what we could see...

Very nice, clean and affordable hotel in the middle of the historical centre of Querétaro. The cheapest rooms cost 32USD but they are rather small. Nice patio. I wouldn't recommand the neighbouring restaurant but rather go to one of the nice places on Plaza de Armas

Pros: great location, inexpensive (about $40/night for 2 people), clean, beautiful courtyard area, staff was nice. I would stay here again. Cons: we booked online but reservation didn't go through... had to settle for a smaller room. Rooms vary in size but most are very small. We had a king bed and, honestly, not much else fit in the room....

When we decided to visit Queretaro on the way to Guanajuato and San Miguel de Allende, I booked the Hotel Hidalgo on the strength of the posted reviews and pictures. This is a friendly, clean, inexpensive, and very well located hotel that caters mainly to Mexicans and savy international travellers. It is located in the Centro Historico (a UNESCO world...

The Hidalgo is a typical lower-priced converted colonial hotel. The rooms are adequate, clean, and mostly comfortable with a good location. Our room had the small balcony to the street which could be a bit noisy at times but was not objectionable. Shut the doors, turn on the fan and you're good to go. Where the Hidalgo shines is the...

My husband and I traveled to Mexico in April 2005 and based on a lot of research, stayed in Queretaro, San Miguel and Guanajuato. Just loved the one-week trip, our first without children (in 8 years!) In Queretaro, we stayed at the Hotel Hidalgo. It was very centrally located and we were able to come and go from the plazas...
