We were so lucky to find this place last minute and they allowed pets. Our pet sitter fell through and were recommended by Point Breeze (no pets). Good location and dog friendly. Being close to the road was not a factor at all! You should know that if you leave the dog alone in the room you need to put... More

In the area for an event, we made the right choice to stay at the Lone Birch. Clean, reasonably priced and well located, the motel is all you need for an overnight and a shower in the morning. Very helpful front desk in a town that is the real Adirondacks. We had a regular room but saw the housekeeping "suites",... More

This was cozy on the cheap and the owners are wonderful. It is Texan hospitality in Indian Lake. I'm stoked to have found this. The M in Placid wanted 375 a night! Plus the Indian Lake restaurant rocks!! Don't expect the Mariott, expect clean, warm and quiet.

Actually my fourth visit here, always on a stopover on motorcycle tours. I keep returning here because the price is right, the place is clean and reasonably appointed for a motel in this category, the lady at the front desk is very nice. The surroundings are quite calm, as the motel is a couple hundred feet off the highway. When... More

I wasn't sure about this place the first time I passed by it but there weren't many options in this area so I went back. The owner was very friendly. Even the family cat came to greet me. It was between seasons so it was very quiet. The room decor was rustic just the way I like it. The room... More

The pictures could have been our room, except there were no longer doors on the cupboard holding the TV/Fridge. The beds were OK, the room is small, the bathroom smaller. It was clean, if not modern compared to a new Holiday Inn Express. Everything we tried worked. We were really there just to sleep, wash up, and get on our... More

My friends and family spent a night here in August, 2012. We rented three rooms (#'s 1, 2, and 3). They were small and shabby, but seemed ok for the price. The real problem was that mine (#1) smelt musty when I entered, and only got worse once I turned on the A/C. I woke in the middle of the... More

This group arrived in the afternoon and spent a lot of time on the front deck. Some of the travelers were on bicycles while the rest were in a car. There were no complaints from the group until the one person came to the office in the AM. I am an early riser and at the time was taking early... More

I go up to Lake Durrant every year camping by myself in a tent for a few days. The last night before I come back to Clifton Park, I get a room at the Lone Birch. It has a hot shower, basic TV, and a bed with a pillow. I love the fact that there is a place to get... More

Often stay here when skiing at Gore and Garnet Hill. Friendly owners. Motel rooms are small but comfortable. Close to town for basic groceries and meals.
