We have skied from here, rock climbed with lessons (and with kids!), and eaten here - all great. Imagine two shy kids and their nervous mom going rock climbing for the first time! These people made it fun and safe. The kids still talk about it and want to go again. You can pick up the famous Jack Rabbit Ski...

Our trip to Maine was supposed to be the highlight of our vacation, but Rock and River Lodge ended up surpassing it. Gorgeous and serene surroundings, impeccably kept lodging, and the best breakfast of our trip for incredible prices! We hope to book again soon and share this gem with our family.

There are two buildings here. One is for groups, and the other has private rooms. This is a review of the private rooms building. R&R is located a the very end of a 1.5 lane dirt road just north of Keene. The building is fairly new and the rooms are immaculately kept. The six or so upstairs private rooms are...

Stayed in the Guide's lodge with my wife after camping here with my Scout troop a couple of times. It was everything we hoped for - quiet, clean, comfortable. An ADK Camp feel without the need to rent for a week. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. A completely relaxed approach to your stay. This is not a hotel...

I stayed here in a group of 14 mid-Atlantic hikers eager to explore the Adirondacks. The setting is serene and beautiful, well off the beaten path but not far from Keene restaurants, Lake Placid and many great trailheads. The rooms are very clean, nicely decorated in Adirondack style with comfortable beds and ceiling fans - no air conditioning which was...

We stayed here 2 nights and bagged 3 of the 46 Adirondack high peaks. Our room had 2 beds and a shared bathroom, both of which were very clean. The breakfast spread was amazing. And one evening we used the grill to make dinner. Ed is a wealth of information on anything hiking, climbing, and tons of other stuff. I...

The wedding couple rented the entire Lodge (both houses) for their guests. As a single traveler, I was assigned the Clark Room (two single beds) in the Guide's House, on the second floor, sharing a bathroom a few feet down the hall. I didn't know what to expect, but loved the entire facility!! Awesome, quiet location; clean, "elegant camping" with...

This is one of our favorite places to stay in the Adirondacks - we have been here once or twice a year for the last 4 years. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the couple we usually stay in are a good size. The Guide's House also has a big common room perfect for reading or playing a board...

This lodging is at the end of the road. It caters to climbers and hikers as well as to someone just wanting to relax in a quiet outdoor location. I stayed in the Stoddard room which had a queen bed and a twin bed and a private bath and deck. What a treat to have some windows open and sleep...

This place is a bit deceptive when you first pull in after the ride to the end of the 2 mile dirt road. While the lodging buildings look weathered from the outside the rooms are beautiful, clean and well appointed on the inside. The grounds are quiet with a babbling brook in the background. We camped with a group on...
