Lots of rain preceded our second visit to Keene Valley Lodge, literally wiping out two or three months of snow and taking the edge off our planned snowshoe adventures. But we hit the trail(s) twice over our weekend, leaving the 'shoes behind and relying on YakTrax for traction on the icy trails. We stayed in the Beede Suite at KVL...

My wife and I travel to the High Peaks every year and this year we ended up at the Keene Valley Lodge. It is a wonderful Inn. We enjoyed the comfort and hospitality, great conversations and delicious breakfast. We plan to make it a part of our trip every year. Cheers to George and company for a job well done.

Picture-perfect High Peaks B & B where accommodations are sparse. Quaint not quite to a fault. One wondered how to access the garret which would have a widow's walk if near the sea. They deploy a fine homemade breakfast. In peace - as the hikers, most visitors, are early birds. There's a delightful branch of the au Sable in the...

My husband and I enjoyed our weekend stay at this comfortable bed and breakfast. Our room was small, but well-appointed. The bed was comfortable and we had a nice view from our window. Downstairs, there are a number of common areas - a music room with a nice piano, a living room with a large fireplace and a cozy dining...

This was the second time we rented Phelps Cottage. The first was about seven years ago and we were very pleased to see that the cottage continues to be well kept and carries great charm. We stayed two nights, April 2-4, 2016. My wife, my brother and my two 20 something sons came for a late winter hike up Giant....

We always stay here when going to Lake Placid, which we do frequently in the winter. George and Laurie are the best hosts. Love the fireplace. Rooms are great. Breakfast excellent. All-around great place.

We had a wonderful stay at the KVL this Christmas week The rooms were charming and the freshly made muffins and eggs in the morning were yummy. George was a warm and friendly host and gave us helpful tips on where to hike and what to bring-- microspikes turned out to be a must for our hike up Hurricane. We'll...

We were driving into Keene Valley for the first time. My wife said "that's a really pretty place. I wish we were staying there". Imagine her surprise when I pulled in. We stayed in room 1. Actually a suite. Great place. It is old and has held its charm. Breakfast is pretty basic. Eggs, oatmeal, bagels, fruit, yogurt, cereal. Nothing...

Hospitable, friendly B&B in an interesting old house right in town. Well managed, comfortable rooms, really nice homemade breakfast, innkeepers Laurie and George are very involved and friendly. They are a great resource in helping you to plan your day. It is also a nice place to relax, and convenient to the town and the many mountain trails.

A friend and I just stayed for one night but would have loved to have stayed longer. It was clean, with lots of character and very friendly staff. It's a lovely old house with a great atmosphere and nicely located for hiking and visiting the area. Can't wait to come back again.

“We liked having space, so the one on the first floor that lets out onto the porch was our pick--had a sitting area and a bedroom along with the bathroom, and the bathroom seemed bigger than some of the others--but you really need to go through all of the available rooms to pick your fave--pluses to all of them really :)”
