Friendly staff. Only downside was the wifi but it's been bad everywher in Ethiopia. Nestled in a nice area, away f rom chaos. Such nice atmosphere they provide. Would recommend to all those who visit lalibela.

We were three girls staying for one night, 350 birr, but we had to fight for it! The room was a good size, with comfortable beds and had hot shower. The restaurant has a great view over parts of the city, the service on the other hand, was really slow.

Seven Olives is recommended in several guidebooks for its beautiful garden and peaceful setting. The garden is lovely, and looks out over the town, with the tables scattered around in the shade. We ate a vegetarian injera, which was quite good, but not the best we had in Ethiopia. The service was reasonable. Our main problem was how poorly maintained... More

Took one look at the toilet and left. No seat, no paper, no hose or other water, not the thing for a tourist with an upset stomach and if that's what tourists have to use, I have to wonder about the staff preparing the food.

Do not stay here! The prices are extremely high and the quality of the rooms is bad. We booked a triple room and got stuck in a double room for the same price as a triple. The outlets did not work nor the water heater. Then management said we would receive a 500 birr discount for our room so we... More

The rooms we very simple and just about functional. The lighting was harsh or not at all. The metal framed windows made me a little concerned for security. The curtains were approximate. The floor and furnishings looked shabby and uninviting, the bathroom and plumbing seemed ancient - so all in all it might have been preferable to a night in... More

This is the oldest hotel in Lalibela. I happened to see the kitchen and was shocked. It is incredible that this hotel is allowed to operate. The toilets were primitive and filthy. The bedrooms were in a very poor state. This hotel should be avoided at all costs.

The Seven Olives hotel is located in the centre of Lalibela, not far from the churches. the view from the garden is great, especially at sunset,in the garden many kinds if birds are seen all day long. the restaurant is quite good, even if overpriced. unfortunately, the rooms are shabby and not so clean, the tables in the garden where people eat are never washed... The hotel has a nice location with a great garden. The rooms are somewhat crumbling and the bathrooms come with some unfortunate plumbing. The prices are negotiable so all in all it didn't seem like a bad deal. In the morning though we were woken up by the manager at 7 or so asking us when we would leave since... More

“Good, but wear flip-flops in the shower and be prepared for a bit of a bad bathroom, but the restaurant is very good and you should stay and eat there mainly, a new set of rooms is also being built our guide told us, and so perhaps this would make up for the rather old and grubby ones currently available.”
