Our once favorite family hotel of all time has lost its luster this year. Sadly this is the first time in our 8 visits to the property that we noticed some wear and tear and attention to detail that no longer exists. Simple things such...More
This resort is amazing! All of the amenities, the decor not to mention the staff! Great value, we cannot believe what we are getting for the money! Bartender Zach is nothing short of an expert mixologist(!!)More

Thank you for writing. We are so glad you found the resort to be "amazing". How nice you were able to spend time with Zach in the lounge, he is an expert mixologist and is entertainment in his own right. He is a great asset...More
It's one of the best places I've ever been! Came here with my husband on weekdays, and it wasn't crowded. So cozy, atmospheric, lovely! Detailed rustic design is fantastic! Our room was the last on the floor, but we have a mountain and ice rink...More
To visit Lake Placid and not stay at this resort would be a mistake. We stayed at the Lodge for three nights with our two young kids and there was such a variety of activities offered that everyone was kept happy. Our first night was...More
Such a beautiful resort and lodge. The staff is wonderful and the hotel is gorgeous. The suites are spacious and luxurious, and we love the fresh baked cookies that come with the turn-down service each night! The breakfast is also fantastic, in spite of what...More

yes the hotel has very good food is pricey so what we would do is order pizza and wings from one of the local places they deliver it right to the room for the kids and then we would go have a nice dinner at Kanu....
last month we had dinner at Nicolas with two families and had six children all under the age of 10.... the food was absolutely delicious every meal is hand compared scrumptious pizzas were delicious too....
.. but they didn't have a dedicated kids menu so we just had to order them some shells with sauce.... a little pricey of a place to take children but worth it if you want a really good Italian food that's genuine..
plus being a small town its restaurants hve to be good... they're not going to last very long so the established businesses have been doing something right for many years.... they have to keep the locals in the tourists happy....
