Great place and value for money, we were looking for a safari type of place and we got it, it's got great view of the beach and easy access to the town, would definitely recommend it to my friends, long drive from Jozi to Port...More

We stayed in Port St John and saw the sign Lily Lodge. We like to explore new places and have a coffee or something. The most run down place I have ever seen. The wooden deck is treacherous to say the most, the patio tables...More

The out of season price was reasonable, but there were no bulbs in the bedside lamps. We were told there was no seafood as the fridge was giving problems, so we gave the rest of the food a skip. The TV also only seemed to...More

We wanted to stay a night at Lily Lodge in Port St. Johns but thought better of it after seeing the rooms. The premises and the outside of the little chalets looked good enough, but inside they are clearly run-down (at least the room that...More

My Dutch family had booked 4 rooms in Lily Lodge. We arrived there on Friday late afternoon. The dining room was dingy and smelly, the balustrade around the deck had huge gaps. The rooms are small and the bathrooms downright dirty. The whole place is...More

        About
        Hotel description
The Lily Lodge, set in the dune forest at Second Beach, Port St Johns, is an idyllic venue for enjoying the Transkei Wild Coast. From our restaurant, you may sight schools of dolphins surfing and gliding away the late afternoon. We serve you the fruits of the ocean complemented by wines from the Cape. Our chalets nestle amongst the trees where you can listen to exotic birdcalls and watch the monkeys play. You can laze on the beach, walk for hours in the forests and along the cliffs, or fish to your heart's content. Other activities in Port St Johns include tours to local villages, deep-sea fishing and horse trails. The Lodge is owned and run by Mbuyie O'Mahony, a Pondo lady married to an Irish doctor. It is a local venture, fully staffed and operated by people from Pondoland. Our chalets nestle amongst the trees where you can listen to the exotic birdcalls of louries, hoopoes, hornbills, and watch the monkeys play. We have thirty rooms, all air-conditioned and self contained with showers. There are TV's in every room with multi-channel satellite reception.
