Took my daughter on Spring Break from an American University to South Africa. The Wild Coast was the last portion of our trip and Umngazi made it the highlight of our week! The bungalow was relaxing and spacious, the food was delicious (homeade birthday cake on the special day) and we loved the daily excursions.

My wife and I were on our way back from CT to KZN and needed to stop over for a night after having driven the Garden Route. We had not booked but decided to go off the main road to a friends recommendation of the Umngazi River Bungalows. We were tired and the management on a Sunday were so helpful...

It is the most beautiful setting. Bungalows have either sea view or river view. The bungalows are very spacious and comfortable. Food was very good and we'll presented. If you have trouble walking try get the bottom bungalows. One sad thing is I feel is that the staff need training. They are really not on the ball.

The staff make it their goal to know you personally. 3 meals and 2 teas a day is included in your rate. They situated on a river and the sea, with ferries running across the river to the sea whenever...

One of the best things about Umngazi River Bungalows is that you can park your car once you get there, and only see it again when it's time to leave! Umngazi has to be one of the most relaxing - and beautiful - places to visit in South Africa! Long, wide unspoilt beaches, rock-pools teeming with sea-life, hot days without...

We drove there but they have a fly-in fully inclusive package available. This place is geared to give you the best time. Good food, hiking trails, spa, tennis, boating, angling, etc. Although we were on this side of the lagoon we had to cross the lagoon to the pristine beach but it was no problem they had a shuttle boat...

Umngazi is situated on a private estuary near the northern border of the Transkei. It is 30 minutes (+- 40km) drive from the main town of Port St Johns, itself a very charming town and area. This is the most tropical and densely forested part of the Transkei I have seen. Very lush and green. As with the rest of...

We loved Umngazi (family with adult children). The accommodation was great. We shared a family unit with adjoining rooms. Very spacious and comfortable. Just surprised that there were no hairdryers (but I think you can ask for one at reception). The resort itself is great - large pool, excellent bar/entertainment areas, well equipped gym. The food was absolutely fantastic. Plenty...
