First and foremost, do not expect a luxury hotel, not even remotely. If you want to experience Mauritius by means of experiencing their culture, people, etc then give Le Bamboo a chance. My wife and I booked a week at Le Bamboo and to be honest, was at first put off by the lack of luxuries there, after all, it's...

Le Bamboo is a budget accommodation, it looks more like a hostel and it could be a reasonable choice for anyone travelling on a shoestring. Small rooms with air con and tv. Top floor rooms are better because you can avoid passing through the hosts' living room, as is the case on 1st floor. Mahebourg is not a fancy place,...

Not sure who does TripAdvisor's appraisals but if this experience is anything to go by never again will I use your judgement. If the job is going I would love to apply as your appraisals will look very different. To class this place with a 3 star hotel is to insult every other well run clean 3 star establishments. No...

This is a budget place and you get what you pay for. Rooms are poor, breakfast is average. But the views down the river are good (from some of the rooms) and it is convenient for the airport, bus station and Mahebourg market. Free wifi in the rooms.

The price may fool you... The photos uploaded on the Internet may charm you... The distance to the airport may tempted you... But don't... just don't I had the unfortunate displeasure of staying at the hotel my first nights in Mauritius. The rooms looked clean, but no one ever came to do any housekeeping. Breakfast is an OK bun, eggs...

no hot water, no lights in the bathroom, plastic sheet as window in the bathroom. These are just a few simple things expected of a place to stay that you are paying for. First we struggled to find the place and then to get to our room we needed to go through the managers place and bedroom to get to...

Nice hosts, good breakfast which was served on the terrace, room had a very nice view over the river and a balcony attached. Wifi was working on the common terrace, not in the room itself. Not far from "downtown" Mahebourg. The hotel itself was quite nice, the city of Mahebourg is quite a sleepy town however

Everything was so good at Le Bamboo. The personnel and staff are very helpful. Had the opportunity to have diner with the family which was fantastic. The breakfast, the room and hot shower, all were just superb.

very friendly and helpful familiy, nice room, very good breakfast, 200m from bus station and banks and shops around the corner. But i recommend to rent a car because by bus it takes very long to discover other beaches (apart Blue Bay which is 15 minutes away).
