We stopped here on the way back from the South of France and were very pleasantly surprised. A great old building and some lovely grounds. It is more a Castle in the English sense than one of the elaborate and decorated "Chateux" often found in France - think medieval and suits of armour and you will get the idea. The...

Dear Guest, Thank you ever so much for sharing this lovely review in light of your recent stay with us. We are glad that your room was to your liking and that you enjoyed the authentic "Château" style our establishment offers. The Château de Varillettes dates back to the fifteenth century and was originally built as a keep. Therefore our...

On passing through the region we had dinner in the 'Chateau'. They run a nice kitchen with some local and less known choices. The food was good to very good and they had also local wines at affordable prices. The dining room in the cellar creates a very special atmosphere. Service: the 'maitre' was friendly and professional which could not...

We were attracted to stay at this property very much based on the description and photographs of the hotel on their website. When we arrived we felt very disappointed. We were expecting a relatively high level of comfort and luxury but, actually, the hotel is quite spartan, with lots of bare stone walls and floors. This is difficult to explain...

We had the room shown in the brochure etc......terrific! There was only one other couple stopping so we had the place to ourselves. You need to eat in the restaurant, which is very good, otherwise you need to drive out. Nice walks through the woods, swimming pool.....maybe give that a miss! Otherwise....give it a try!

We arrived at the Chateau with high expectations. On arrival we were shown a room away from the main building to what used to be the stables. The room was very small, no windows other than the small window in the stable door. It was very claustrophobic and dark. At such prices I was expecting a little more luxury. We...

This chateau actually looks like a small castle rather than a converted manor house. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Our room was small but very comfortable with an splendid view of the excellent gardens. The place could not be more convenient as a stop over on the way through France. It is a very short distance from the...

We stayed here for 2 nights and ha da wonderful stay. the staff were all friendly and accommodating. Our room was a little small but the surroundings made up for it. The bathrooms have beautiful sinks which look like the whel from a ship. bathrooms are also small but clean. The pool isin a lovely peaceful part of the garden...

This small chateau is a beautiful historic place to stay and is very nicely decorated. The service is very friendly and the restaurant is really good, though a little formal. We had a lovely room, although the bathroom could have been larger. Be aware that the A75 motorway is nearby, it forced us to keep one of the (well isolated)...
