We've been going on and off to Garnet Hill for the past 25+ years -- pre-children, with little children, teens and now with late teens. We lucked out with late snow for Spring break this year. Garnet Hill has always had one of the most pleasant and spacious cross country skiing grounds in the East, but with the latest change...

This place is a bit isolated but that makes it gorgeous. You don't need to go far for good food because the restaurant serves excellent quality food. The mobile reception/wifi is patchy but the staff are lovely, rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean, the breakfast is amazing and the surroundings are spectacular. Worth the 5 hour drive from Brooklyn! We...

We thank you for your gracious comments and for allowing us to serve you throughout the weekend. It is always a pleasure to be your host, when you just need to get away, unwind and relax. If you have not experienced the Adirondacks during the fairer seasons, I’d love to mention that we offer hiking & biking on our 50k...

We had a great weekend in the middle of March at the Garnet Hill Lodge! We hiked and xx skied just enough to make our delicious dinners at the restaurant guilt free! We will definitely come back next winter and maybe again in the summer!

We had a fabulous stay for four days in the middle of March 2017. This rustic lodge is lovely with pine logs and paneling everywhere and attractive stone fireplaces -- especially the one in the main area which was lit every afternoon and evening. Our room overlooked the lake and the mountains beyond it -- a view we couldn't stop...

In January my husband and I visited Garnet Hill for the first time. It was a splurge for us but we decided it was worth it... stress/hours working, and an upcoming visit for me to family to help out during my mom's surgery... We had a wonderful time. The 24 hour getaway was perfect- romantic, fun, relaxing. We had a...

We are always happy to make our guests feel welcome and comfortable. It sounds as though we may have outdone ourselves on your second visit, which makes us all proud to be part of a winning team here at Garnet Hill Lodge. Perhaps your next visit could be during the fairer months; with the birds, flowers & warmer temperatures enticing...

The lodge had just exchanged hands when I visited. The property is magnificent with views to mountains and a lake. The fireplaces are made from rocks with garnet sparkling in them-- really unusual. I stayed in the main lodge on the side with no view. It's very rustic. The furnishings were old, frumpy, lumpy, flat pillows, no style to the...

Dear 'Paintergurl', We thank you for taking the time for your input, and the compliments of our staff. Since the new ownership last fall, we have been working on upgrading and decor throughout our buildings, one step at a time. Although we have not yet arrived at our final outcome; it is a work in progress. We have also changed...

We wanted to celebrate our anniversary snowshoeing and xc skiing, and the place we usually go to was booked, so we took a chance on Garnet Hill. It had everything we wanted, and a lot more! It's a great old Adirondack Lodge with extensive trails, friendly staff, and really good food! We snowshoed up to the old garnet mine the...

We had a wonderful time at Garnet Hill this past weekend. We had a snow storm which produced 14 inches of new fallen snow. They were up at 1am grooming trails for us to enjoy the next day. Everyone was friendly and very helpful. Our room was very comfortable.

Friendly staff and beautiful lodge. Perfect trail conditions for cross country skiing . .only bad thing was that we couldn't stay longer. This was our 10th trip to Garnet Hill. Ski shop has delicious soup , chilli & snacks. Sugar house run on Sundays is a must to catch the complimentary pancakes.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Garnet Hill Lodge is a 4 season hotel and resort in the central Adirondacks. Situated on a gentle hill overlooking pristine Thirteenth Lake, Garnet Hill Lodge offers a storybook Adirondack setting for individuals, couples, and families to escape from the hectic pace of everyday life and surround themselves with the serenity of nature. Our guests can choose to actively engage in hiking, mountain biking, swimming, paddling a kayak/canoe... Or just settle into an Adirondack chair on the expansive front lawn with a good book if preferred. Winter opens up 50k of beautifully groomed cross-country ski trails, countless miles of back-country and snowshoe trails. As well as 15 minutes to downhill skiing at Gore Mountain. Our main Log House Lodge is reminiscent of an Adirondack Great Camp. The original structure was built in 1936 and offers a casual, friendly atmosphere with Bed and Breakfast guest service. Our location provides convenient access to many vacation activities, but best of all, it is a unique opportunity for couples and families to reconnect over wholesome outdoor activities. Our full service restaurant is open to the public and nourishes all our guests with freshly prepared, hearty lodge meals. ... more   less
