I just got back from dropping my daughter off at University of Oneonta. When I read the reviews after I had booked this hotel I completely panicked. Here are the things about this hotel first of all lots of parking in front of the hotel, Great location you’re walking distance to the middle of town, Front desk people really nice, my room was clean the sheets and bed were clean the bathroom was clean the, The towels are clean, The room had no smell and great air-conditioning, it could definitely be an update, It was a little pricey for this type of hotel but for the most part it was no different than any other hotel Lots of channels on the flatscreen TV in the bed was very comfortable with lots of pillows

I stayed here while in town on business, and while my stay was pretty good, I thought that the hotel could use some updating. The parking lot had potholes, so be careful where you park. Staff were friendly and helpful, if slightly inattentive. My room was decently sized and had everything I needed, although it took me a while to get comfortable on the bed, and the carpets could be cleaned more regularly. There was an odd smell in the hallways - not bad, just odd. Breakfast was a grab-and-go, with a limited selection of cereals, muffins, and juices. The front door to my room didn't lock automatically from the outside, so be careful about leaving valuables out in plain view. The best part about this hotel is that it's centrally located in the downtown area, so it's within walking distance of several restaurants. I don't think that I'd stay here for more than one night.

This place is a dump. Smells dirty like cigarettes when you walk in. I do not want to take my shoes off in the room, the pool is broken and sauna broken. The check-in person was nice but is not dressed or presented in a neat manner and did not give information about wifi. She spelled my name wrong. The towels and the bedspread have stains and I can't see why Clarion wouldn't fix this up to have respect for people staying here. You should refund my money. The screaming children across the hall have stopped for now.

The pictures online looked like it would be a good place but the smell when you enter the lobby indicated otherwise. The hotel overall is in disrepair. Staff was friendly but the gym was tiny and terrible, the washer and dryer was broken, the smell of chlorine from the pool room was overpowering, it was also locked and the hot tub was out of order. Then we got to our room... the beds were a full size at best (not queens), there was debris (paint, dirt, etc) on the carpet along with a questionable patch job on one section of carpet. There were black specks on the white sheets and the room overall didn't smell great. We ended up not even staying one night there. When we went to check out the staff understood but the manager still made them charge us over $200 for the night. They then charged my boyfriend's card for the whole week we were booked even though we had checked out. The refund hasn't posted yet... Such a disappointing experience from what was considered to be a reputable hotel chain.

Absolutely terrible stay, the carpets reek of urine, the mattresses all have disgusting brown stains, the beds are so uncomfortable you’re better off sleeping in the floor. None of the vending machines work, the in house restaurant in closed constantly The staff is incredibly disrespectful in what I believe to be racially motivated aggression towards me and my roommates. Within our 4 day stay the room was not cleaned once as they refused us cleaning services. We were then woken up at 9am on the day of checkout to loud knocking and accusations of smoking within the hotel then they proceeded to kicked us out because the curtains smelled like cologne which to them means someone tried to cover up smoke. I’m absolutely disgusted by the staff and especially the Manager if you’re thinking of staying at this hotel, DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND DONT.

I've stayed at the Clarion many times. It's a bit dated which I happen to like Nice thick clean concrete walls. Makes for a very quiet peaceful stay. The staff are super nice especially the ladies at the front desk. If you're a Paris Hilton protege it's probably not for you. But if you want an exceptionally clean place for a great price I highly recommend the Clarion

Fine place, but nothing over the top. It is half an hour to Cooperstown, so that could save I some money. Indoor pool is small and not heated, but still a pool. Hot tub was closed due to covid restrictions. Breakfast was grab and go. Nothing bad but just muffins oatmeal and cereal. Work out room was 2 treadmills, a bike a stepper and a machine. Enough to get something in. Room was clean, but slightly aged. Stained walls, carpets glory had long passed it by. Bed was tolerable
Service was always polite and helpful when needed. I would stay again based on pricing, but only if it is a base of operations and not the designation.

My friends and I stayed at the Marx for our college reunion . We were all very happy we stayed at the property . The staff especially Mary Ciampo was extremely accommodating, gave us good tips where to eat , go out , just directing us with all queries . She was very patient with us as well :) . The hotel has a hot tub which we used which was a bonus given how sore we were and the proximity to downtown was key ! No Uber necessary ; everything In close proximity . Beds were comfortable and firm mattress as well and fair priced . Thanks Mary ! Recommend your property and we’ll be back for golf !

The overall quality of the location was poor. There is minimal upkeep to the interior. The carpets show wear, the wallpaper is in poor shape, and the furniture is also in poor shape. Dirty sheets were left outside of an adherent room for our entire stay.

The pool and pool room were less than desirable. There are two doors leading directly outside; neither door is insulated and there is a gap at the bottom. With the outside temp being below freezing this resulted in the door being iced over, ice at the bottom, and the room being cold. The water in the pool was a questionable color. There were broken lights around the room, along with peeling paint and mold. The hot tub was out of service, and appeared to have been in that state for some time.

The morning breakfast was less than welcoming. We weren’t even sure they had put it out yet until we searched around the room. We didn’t eat and headed to Dunkin.

This is one of the dirtiest and worst maintained hotels I've ever stayed at. I I was there for 6 days and 5 nights. The housekeepers were supposed to come and only showed up once. The wallpaper is peeling everywhere around the hotel including my room. There seemed to be water damage in the ceiling. My room had a tub in the living room which also appeared to have flooded the carpet many times over. Shower is very small. The free breakfast is not worth eating either. Overall it looks like they are taking your money and not investing it into the hotel whatsoever. I do not recommend.

If you do have to stay here, the toilet flushes and keep your socks and shoes on in the hotel room. Eat in town.
