When checking out - nobody around to take key.
In the morning, I noticed two spiders (one in the corner of the bathroom and one in the corner of the main room) - I killed one.
After I returned from my day's activities, I noticed some disconcerting items:
1 - The plastic cup I had used the previous night and that morning was still where I had left it - not replaced with a clean one.
2 - The spider I had left alive in the bathroom was still that way (undisturbed) when I returned and peaked my curiosity - I found 5 smaller spiders (and some additional cobwebs) throughout the room.
3 - The washcloth I had taken from its decorative spot (folded in the bathmat) was still in the same spot I had put it - unfolded on the back of the toilet.
4 - The bathroom floor still had dirt (from before I had arrived) just inside the doorway.
5 - Upon closer inspection, the rest of the room had not been vacuumed either - either the housekeeping staff was not doing its job (get new staff) or not trained properly (management problem).
When I checked out the next morning and pointed out some of the above issues, the front desk/manager was not concerned in the slightest. I will never return to this hotel.
Bedspread? Foul and discolored. Probably never washed. Folks who stay here, and I say it without judgment, stay here by the hour. One guy consumed a 12 pack of beer daily.
Proprietor affects poor English (may or may not speak English well), but a master manipulator.
If you are a woman who must stay here alone, pay the extra $ and stay elsewhere. It's not worth saving a few dimes.
Doors do not always lock. Be sure to check before leaving the room to ensure lock works.
Moldy ,dark, and dank, Feels like if anything bad happens in town, it would happen here.
The beds were a bit springy, so you might get a sore back, but the room was overall clean and welcoming. The linens and towels appeared fresh, the bathroom showed some wear but was otherwise clean and the shower had great heat and pressure; our bathroom looked like it had just been renovated (faux wood floors), We had a king bed, so it was spacious and the bathroom was quite large (room 29). Our friends were in a twin bed room, which was slightly smaller, and might not have been updated as recently. I was expecting the crowd at the place not to be the best, but it was mostly college alumni when we were there, and the place was actually quite quiet at night.
Amenities in the room: fridge, microwave, hairdryer, flat screen tv
I can say I went in expecting it to be the worst, and found it to be quite a nice stay. Also can't beat the location - right in the middle of town.
"Room 29 (king bed) was very clean, spacious, and quiet. No neighbors since it's right next to the front desk."Read full review
