To me quaint denotes something pleasantly old fashioned. That's hardly the case here. If seeing old wooden beams and hearing every hallway sound is your pleasure, by all means book here. The young woman who check us in couldn't have cared less about her job. No eye contact, no warmth, no useful information. No one answers the phone at the... More

My fiancé and I had an AMAZING stay at the Rhinecliff! The hotel is so quaint and a perfect getaway from the city! We loved the reclaimed wood throughout as well as the recycled artwork! The food, prepared by James, was the best we've had in a long time. The view from our room's balcony was beautiful! Being near the... More

This was the worst Band B experience of a lifetime of travel. Hotel is charming, staff kind and breakfasts good. BUT...they booked a wedding and there is NO sound proofing. The noise was impossible. They have many complaints about this year in, year out and do nothing. They obviously do not care about the traveler's experience. SAD. I left furious.... More

Dear Julie, Thank you for taking the time to share your feelings with the world, painful as it is, we always try to learn from our mistakes and we shall do so again this time. There is no denying there was a wedding booked in the hotel on the night you stayed, and as weddings usually are, it was indeed... More

Fantastic hotel with great sunset views over the Hudson. Railroad runs adjacent to the hotel for great for train watching. Passenger service is infrequent and stops overnight, freight service only a couple of times per night. Lovely rooms with whirlpool bath and balcony. Floors are wooden and a little creaky which adds old style character. Take a riverside railroad trip... More

I wish I could be more positive, but his hotel was one of our great disappointments during a trip to the Hudson Valley. The hotel sits on a unique piece of property with a commanding view of the Hudson River. It is also across the street from an Amtrak station where the train from Manhattan to Albany makes regular stops--a... More

Dear P, I’m so sorry you didn’t have a great experience with us, we ordinarily do like to pride ourselves on our service and facilities. The hotel is a fairly small, and historic building, and suffers some of the disadvantages caused by these aspects of its existence. There are only two small levels of rooms, when we investigated installing an... More

Inn located on banks of Hudson River about an hour north of NYC. Selected inn because of convenience to several sites wanted to visit. Smallish historic hotel which has been modernized nicely, for the most part. Rooms were spacious and baths and rooms nicely furnished. Inn shows some signs of decrepitude, however, rotting floorboards on balcony and visible signs of... More

Dear PT, Thank you for taking the time to write, your feedback is much appreciated and we continually work to improve on our shortcomings! Yes the train is our reason for existence, The Rhinecliff is a 100% railway hotel, built willfully next to the new train station in 1854, and it’s been “All Aboard” ever since, and we certainly ensure... I loved everything about The Rhinecliff: the jacuzzi tub, salts for the tub, rain shower, dimmable lights in the bathroom AND bedroom, cozy bed and THE VIEW. There is something so peaceful about looking out on the Hudson River, seeing the boats, hearing the birds. And I found the passing trains to add so much CHARM to the whole experience.... More

Beautiful hotel with stunning views of the Hudson. We enjoyed impeccable service and delicious food. This was truly a first class hotel and dinner, we could not have enjoyed a more lovely stay. Historic inn that is beautiful.

The inn is majestic in its views and the structure. We had the luxury of having the entire inn to our party for the weekend night and it was wonderful. Had a nice stay. Just that..nice. Was not overly impressed. Beautiful views. Issue that really hit us was no restaurant or bar. Just breakfast available. Should have been advertised as such and it was not. Very nice staff otherwise.
