The Rhinecliff was a wonderfully secluded hotel, not too far from Rhinebeck, but far enough for R&R. We had a beautiful room overlooking the Hudson, and the reception staff was wonderful. Though the hotel makes it obvious that they are right next to the train line, it did not affect the views or our sleep. They provided earplugs just in...

Dear P, i'm so glad you enjoyed your visit, and indeed the trains! Interestingly enough, a recent poll shows that "husband's snoring" is in nine out of ten cases, louder than "incidental train noise"...who knew?! Thank you for writing and do come and see us again! James

Wonderful place to be!!!!!clean, rustic, charming , friendly, gorgeous sunset on the Hudson River seating on the balcony of your bedroom or on the patio facing the river. A small village near the hotel is called Rhinebeck and you go visit, it's very cute.

Dear L, Thank you so much for taking the time to write, I'm so glad you enjoyed your stay and yes, we are very grateful for our Hudson Valley sunsets which come right on cue, every evening! Thank you again! James

I have been avoiding writing this review but unfortunately I'm left with no choice. My husband and I stayed at this hotel in August 2014 for a babymoon, and we actually had a lovely experience. The problem was that when we checked into our room, it had not been properly cleaned--there were hairs in the bathtub and a dirty towel...

Dear V, I was so sorry to hear of your unfortunate experiences, it really doesn't sound like our usual way of doing things, so I can only apologize. Our fabulous Desk Manager Chris did sadly leave us to go away to college, but there has certainly been no change in the hotel's management, we remain as keen as ever to...

My husband and I were looking for a last minute get away, and we were so lucky to find this unique hotel nestled over the Hudson River. The room was very clean and comfortable, and we had an amazing view of the sunset over the mountains. Yes, there is a train track, but the trains were not frequent and not...

Dear Lorene, I'm so glad you enjoyed your visit with us! We are indeed very proud of our home cooked full breakfast which is had to find these days in most hotels alas, and our light bar menu has been going down rather well too this summer, so thank you for commenting. Thank you again and we hope to see...

Given the price, $300 plus, I had high expectations. Here is what I found: Rooms that overlook a train station, poorly stocked bar, no restaurant, and nice but nothing special rooms. Definitely avoid.

Dear Mark, I'm so sorry you didn't enjoy our little hotel! We are of course very close to the train station and the railway, in the Hudson Valley if you want the river, then you get the train, it's All Aboard or nothing as they say! Our bar carries a fairly broad selection so I"m sorry if it didn't meet...

The hotel has been refurbished to a very high degree and is very comfortable and relaxing. The views over the Hudson are fantastic, apart from the large iron railway bridge, but even that adds to the atmosphere. As mentioned in the hotel prospectus, the trains do go by at regular intervals but this did not bother us and, in fact,...

Dear Trish, Thank you so much for taking the time to write! Interestingly enough, when the railway was built, they were required to install those iron bridges at regular intervals so that people could still access the river despite the railway's river-hugging route, these iron bridges are in fact protected historic structures now! Lynn is a true star, so thank...

The Rhinecliff Inn was a warm and welcoming place to stay. The rooms are spacious and immaculate. Each balcony had a nice view of the Hudson. There is a train that runs by during the night, so the room had earplugs. Thankfully I did not find this disturbing. Everyone was very kind and helpful and provided a comfy cot for...

The hotel and rooms are nicely updated in a rustic style. The view from our balcony was very nice overlooking the Hudson. There is a nice casual bar/restaurant on the ground level where they served good food. The staff we interacted with were all very friendly and helpful so from the perspective of what the proprietors of the hotel can...

Dear G, Thank you for taking the time to tell us of your experiences! The hotel has a great amount of charm if you love historic buildings. They really did a wonderful job restoring and updating the place. Beautifully done. The location is as they say...out of the way.
