If you want a phenomenal welcome & continued constant quality coffee, protein shakes, cakes, etc then I can’t recommend this fabulous little place enough. Sylvano looked after us and constantly ensured we had what we needed and made us felt at home. He’s a real credit to the LUX brand and echos their highest standards.
Cafe Lux was a lovely coffee haven within the resort whether it be for coffeee first thing or tea in the afternoon. It was made all the better by Sylvano and Fabrice who are fantastic baristas able to create great coffee hot or cold (frappes are recommended!! It is also worth trying the local vanilla tea!
The hotel is lovely, the rooms are lovely, the food is lovely, the place is lovely however mauritian hospitality and care is what has made this trip. You will be well looked after, asked if your OK and if everything is to your liking at every opportunity, the staff cannot do enough for you, even bring you a towel out of nowhere whilst getting out the pool. The wonderful experience of mauritius and the people should imprint on you what life is all about, it has for my family and I. To all the staff that I have interacted with - you are a credit to your country and lux grand gaube, thankyou for help make memories, you all deserve so much in life.
Travelled with family. We did have some service issues to begin with and these were mostly sorted though lack of attention to detail when ordering at the various restaurants was still missing. Want to give a big shout out to - Japinder (chef) Akash and Nilesh in bar Deepak (chef) David (beach bar ) Adish (Inti bar) Diran in buffet restaurant - thanks so much for your attentiveness on our last day. And lastly Dukan you were really fab and endeavoured to please us. Really liked the grounds, very attractive resort, lovely place for an unwinding holiday. I did point out before I left that the wooden steps coming out of Inti restaurant need to be looked at as a bit dangerous to see where you are stepping at night.
We are here as a family of 8 for a wedding and could not be more impressed with everything so far. The staff are very very friendly, helpful and hard working. They really make it their mission to ensure you enjoy your holidays. The staff around the pool area are fantastic especially Surav, Manav and Amit, nothing is too much trouble . They are excellent with the children and so full of fun. The lovely friendly welcome at breakfast from the team is the perfect way to start another wonderful day again they cannot do enough to help and always with a smile. The food is terrific suiting all needs. Really looking forward to the big day today and another fabulous week at this resort. Thoroughly recommend.
Overall a fantastic experience with great food and as many people have said, all the staff are fantastic and we throughly enjoyed our time here. A beautiful hotel with well kept grounds. lots of things going on above the tennis, gym, and water sports with nice touches such as star gazing on the beach, popcorn given out at the outdoor cinema. Some constructive feedback Loud music or piano at breakfast we found annoying and not relaxing. This might just be our personal preference The G+T club charges all drinks for all inclusive guests. So if you are on half board you can buy a drink and that’s ok but all inclusive members have paid a supplement already and so are faced with a choice of paying again or going to another bar and getting it free. Agreed there are premium gins but why not make a standard gin which are available free at other bars free to all inclusive guests. The service at peak times on some days was slow. On the beach it could take an hour to get a drink. The poor waiter did his best and is charming and apologetic about the wait but one guy serving the whole beach is crazy. Not what I call 5 star service Same in the entertainment area at night and at breakfast Lovely charming staff but can take along time to get your drink - not good enough for five star. This constructive feedback should not put people off. The overall warmth and service far exceeded any other hotel we have stayed in and is meant only to help improve Some superstars I cannot remember all the names and there were quite a few who stood out which included Veer the beach waiter - so apologetic about previous delays and on other days came up without being requested remembering name, room number and previous orders promising no delay on that day. Outstanding. Neeraj - main bar. Amazing service The water sports team- so enthusiastic Despite water sports being included they were were so patient teaching our kids water skiing and other activities The lady at cash desks who helped sort our flights out with Luftansa’s so patiently despite long delays on Luftansa’s line. Well done Lux - we loved it…
Enjoyed a recent weeks family holiday to Lux Grand Gaube. Full range of ages in our group from grandparents (70+) to grand kids (4 and 8). We had a lovely time so hope to give a view of the resort. We were worried about weather during effectively a Mauritian winter so opted for the northern corner. In terms of weather we chose well. Although several rain showers (predominantly overnight) the weather was very pleasant - mid 20C. Very comfortable and clean rooms with all required amenities that are regularly replenished. The staff were very attentive and make the resort really. From Sylvano, Nuha and Jonathon at the coffee station (happy to adapt our cappuccinos to taste) to Reedoo (our beach captain) with Veer always on hand to help arrange our daily sun beds. Then the team in the restaurants were always very helpful. Special mention must go to Ashkaye, Ashwin and Angela. Always looking to help us arrange our restaurant tables for lunches and dinners (table for 11 can always be challenging). One of the grandparents enjoyed the Baclava at Bodrum Blue (not available at other restaurants). The team mentioned above made sure that he got his dessert no matter where we dined. The cocktail genius at the gin bar is also a must visit as well as Rajnish his under study. Gin bar not included in AI but worth a treat. We were on the AI deal and would recommend it as think it could be very pricey if you are not. On the slight negative side I’d say that we had an issue with the rooms on arrival as the family rooms had been over booked !! Not good when we booked this over 8months ago. Thankfully Elena sorted it out 24hrs later. When on AI then you’re inclined not to venture outside of the resort to eat. I think that if you eat at the hotel exclusively for a week then it can become very predictable. I would also probably opt for a first floor room and not ground floor in future. Overall very enjoyable. Kids enjoyed the kids club as well and were well looked after. We would certainly return in the future.…
We went for my wife’s 60th birthday and had high expectations as we did pay quite a lot and previous reviews are very good and our friends had been to Lux Bel Mare. The sea view room was excellent. The service was generally very good but a little hit and miss in the main restaurant. The main issue is the food and drinks. We paid £4k extra for all inclusive and simply put it was OK but we were expecting special. The main restaurant is buffet and we ate there most of the time. There were two other complementary restaurants which were both good but again not special. The wines were basic and limited in choice with no nice sparkling option. All in all a very nice resort but we felt it was not worth the extra in terms of flight time and cost versus other options e.g. Ikos resorts in Europe.…
Travelled with my wife for our 6th or 7th stay at this hotel, Stayed in a superior room looking out over the middle bay, and were AI as its really the only way to visit this hotel We went just after the rules were relaxed, and prior to travelling we were assured that ALL of the restaurants were open, which they were but they didn't tell us that they closed on a rolling programme so the full range of eateries was not available every day. We found that this year the emphasis on food at the specialty restaurants appeared to have changed to include much more "vegan" and "vegetarian" fare which somewhat restricted the menu for a confirmed carnivore like myself, also the fish dishes were a lot fewer than in the past and the size of the fish were very small. As usual we greatly preferred the main buffet in the evening as the array of dishes was superb ( especially the Chinese and the Indian food) lunch was usually taken at the banyan ( when it was open). Service at all of the bars and restaurants was superb and the sparkling wine at dinner was very good. Usually dinner was followed by a lovely coffee ( and Brandy or 2) at the Cafe Lux and was just lovely sitting down in a comfy seat with the windows open and enjoying the peace and quiet or sometimes listing to the superb entertainment which usually consisted of a low key band or duo. On to the wonderful staff! They really make such an effort to make your stay here as memorable as possible. There are really too many to mention them all but just a few who made my visit great (this is wife speaking now!) were Diren Seeb at the main restaurant (French onion soup!) he went out of his way to help us. Nuha at Cafe Lux makes the best Iced coffee ever! and is so friendly, Adii Lah in the shop as always was very helpful (the bag was a great success for the little one!) Ni Dhi in hotel reservations couldn't have been more helpful, thank you for the hair slide! We usually stayed at the Adult only beach which is usually very peaceful (One memorable time it wasn't but the staff soon sorted out the problem!) is very peaceful and Kumar was on hand to sort out any drinks etc you might need - and what a great memory he has for individual orders! I had two superb massages at the Spa, Neeshma you were great! Last but by no means least the lovely Jayshree who maintained great order in our room, and the towel art were brilliant!…
