This was the second stop on our first visit to South Arica, and we loved it! Unfortunately we didn't have the best of weather and experienced some heavy downpours (much needed in the area). However this didn't mar our stay. The rooms are very comfortable with stunning views (giraffes in the distance) and the food, eaten at a communal table...

This place is fantastic. The food was the best we had anywhere in South Africa, and the accommodation was brilliant. Our only sadness was that we had only booked for one night. Lovely staff, great tours on offer and excellent hospitality.

This was our second visit in 18 months. We went first of all in July and more recently in December. Only superlatives will do for Three Trees. The most relaxing, the most welcoming, the best food, the most luxurious accommodation. (Churchills both visits)There is so much to do in the region and your hosts will organise everything for you. We were keen to see wildlife and learn more about the Boer War battles. Even though the owners were away when we arrived everything was pretty much perfect from the outset. We had booked the `Churchills' lodge (which stands a hundred metres away from the main house and other lodges) with two bedrooms, a large living room balcony and plunge...

We decided to go out for lunch and we found Three Trees. Even if we gave them a very short notice, they did their best to please us. The main lodge is beautifully decorated and the room follow the same style ( they let us see one of them ). The surrounding view is breathtaking. The staff were lovely and...

I knew very little about the Anglo Boer war, and nothing about the battle of Spioenkop, but thanks to Simon, the owner and guide for the battlefield, we were mesmerised by the picture he gave. It's like staying in a little house annexed to a family home from home. Food was excellent and sundowners overlooking the dam were fabulous

We arrived at Three Trees Hill to a very friendly welcome. The facility is family owned and run and the tour of Spion Kop was superbly executed by Simon who has a wealth of knowledge on the subject matter and included a number of other fascinating details about the area in his talk. We also went on a conducted horse...

Lauren and I began our African adventure here. Every single person that either works or helps at this place is on top of their game. The accommodation is great and I love the english colonial style of the main house where you eat, drink and relax. Special thank you to Ron. No one understands the old battles like this man....

Lovely small place to stay in a beautiful location with great views over the Spionkop battlefield and a nature reserve. There is a main lodge which serves as a communal meeting place and dining area, the food is very good by the way, and then your accommodation is in one of six chalets, all of which have that great view...

We stayed in an excellent room, the food we had was delicious. Travelling through the reserve we saw all the widlife that South Africa had to give us. The guide had excellent knowledge of the animals. They also had in depth knowledge of Boer War which fascinated everyone.
