We found the camp too crowded together, too busy, too heavy build, too tired. Whilst the individual bandas were spacious and quite comfortable there were many practicality issues: the highly polished floor was slippery and dangerous particularly near the shower when wet, only the sleeping area was insect proofed making nocturnal ‘visits’ noisy and difficult, the basin only had a... Grew up going to Ruaha national park & mwagusi was always the highlight. When I was a kid we would stop by for an icy soda. When I got older we stayed in the comfy tents with beds & solar powered light. Very authentic experience & take great care of you with expert guides to great food around the fire... More

Mwagusi was the 2nd of 3 camps that we stayed in during our trip. By far the staff and management of this camp went out of their way to make you feel comfortable and welcome. The game drives were varied and excellent. I was pleased that we missed the actual giraffe kill but saw the lions stalking lunch.(you only need... More

Mwgusi Safari Camp in Ruaha National Park is reached by light aircraft to Msembe airstrip from Dar es Salaam. Ruaha is unspoilt. It is remote and, for those seeking a genuine safari experience, it is absolutely ideal. However, for those who are not able to embrace the real Africa, this is not for you! There are insects, monkeys who visit... More

We returned to Mwagusi after 16 years! We had superb memories from our 1st trip, we've now got even more. Game viewing is superb in this park & Mwagusi is definitely in the best area. We stayed for 4 nights & every drive delivered great sightings. This is definitely lion territory! On our 1st drive we saw lion, leopard &... More

I have visited this camp for the last 21 years exclusively from all other venues in East Africa, because of the superb staff, all English speaking, accommodations extremely effective with solar lighting and great comfort. Hot water all day! Food is excellent. The guides go out of their way to meet your needs. Best wildlilfe viewing. Unfortunately, on my last... More

Both my wife and myself have been travelling around Africa for over 20 years although this was our first trip to Ruaha. We stayed at this camp as part of a 15 day trip around Tanzania as we especially wanted to see and photograph Wild Dogs, Stable and Roan Antelopes, and we weren't disappointed. The Banda's took us by surprise... More
