Our room was so large that the small air conditioner struggled to keep it cool but it was comfortable enough for us. My favorite part was the beautiful balcony. The location in Stone Town is very good and the staff was friendly and helpful in setting up tours.

When I checked in , I could feel something very different about this place as I read about this hotel being the first of its kind in the island , I was pretty surprised to see it is still well kept in spite of its wear and tare. Good breakfast. Very good accommodating staff , right in middle of stone...

Nice hotel with a garden area, the staff are very friendly, and the manager was great. I had good correspondence with him before we arrived via email. The rooms are a bit tired, but are adequate and our room was cleaned every day, breakfast was satisfactory, consisting of toast, beans, eggs, potato usually. The hotel was in the ideal location...

Where do I start? On arrival I was served a welcome drink with a fly in it. We were taken to our room which was not ready, so we were given a smaller room with no seating area as indicated in our booking. The next morning, the only available food at breakfast was bread and butter, fruits, pancakes and jem....

If you're looking for a cheaper alternative to expensive hotels in town, Zanzibar Hotel is a good one. Conveniently located, with nice, clean, comfortable rooms, furnished in Zanzibar style. Bathrooms would need renovations (I saw three rooms) but still fully functional. Breakfast food not amazing but ok. Staff very nice and friendly.

Location is great; hotel very quaint; room huge; breakfast good; restaurant food not bad either; very nice, friendly, helpful staff who can organise tours/taxis/tell you where to find certain places. One tip: consider paying the bit extra for a quiet room which doesn't front the bar nearby unless you are very tired and/or full of beer and sleep through the...

This charming hotel in the southern part of Stone Town was the perfect start of our Zanzibar holiday. We stayed two nights in a spacious and cosy room with two beautiful traditional Zanzibari beds (mind you, the mattress can be a bit hard, perfect for me personally though). The biggest plus for this hotel are very good rates for the...

Our early checkin was friendly.
