My husband and I stayed at Maru Maru to finish off an unforgettable safari experience in the Serengeti. What a perfect way to end the trip! Service was impeccable and all staff were incredibly well trained and genuinely cared about our needs and requests. Maru Maru arranged a tour to prison island and one of their very knowledgeable staff members,...

The location of Maru Maru can't be beat - right in the centre of Stone Town. We walked right from the ferry terminal and found it easily. The furnishings in the room are beautiful and comfortable and the hot shower was much appreciated. The rooftop restaurant has good food and a lovely view of Stone Town. The helpful staff helped...

Being here was more than a home to me. Served by well groomed, displined and skilled staff. Yes I have been in different places before, but this is the only home (yes I call it home) I wish to be back. Thanks for your hospitality.

It is a good and nice hotel in Stone Town with an very nice roof top restaurant. The whole staff is very obliging. The rooms are well furnished and you have everything you need. Sometime I had problems with the wifi, but most of the time it works.

Very clean, quiet room on the second floor of the new part. Staff is very helpful and courteous. Food was very good, the rooftop is a great relaxing view. Enjoyed the spice tour which the hotel arranged. The guide was knowledgeable and willing to show me some of the town.

Maru Maru is excellent with very large rooms and perfect interiors. The staff are as usual in East Africa very friendly and helpful. We tried the famous rooftop restaurant at Emerson Spice however their rooftop was like a tree house compared to Maru Maru's rooftop which is the best in Stone Town. A big mention to Celestina who organises the...

Stonetown itself - especially in the offseason - is a little dream of 1001 nights. This very charming hotel well located in the middle of the labyrinth of all those little streets of the old town is an oasis! Rooms are spacious and beautifully furnished and have all you need! The rooftop terrace is amazing and while at day time...

Loved the view from their rooftop. Sunset was great and they had nice and cheap happy hour drinks. Food is really delicious. We had some swahili and indian, both amazing. Paneer vindaloo was very tasty so was the other swahili peas gravy. Good service and decent rates. Their card machine did not work which created a little hassle for me...
